I dont think Scouts will be top 5. This is what happened in 2011. Started out really strong but peaked too soon. Im afraid that is going to happen this year as well.

I dont think Cadets have enough depth to win. I think they will peak and will finish 3rd. Similar with Crown but they have more to work with. I think it will be BD.

Im usually not overly impressed with any show early season but once I see them either live or from several videos, they grow on me. Right now, nothing stands out a ton... then again, Ive only seen a handful and none live.

First show for them and quite possibly the first time she wore that outfit while doing that much movement. Everything stayed where it was supposed to in the end and Im sure its already fixed. Let it go.

I too am not emotionally attached to the show... yet. It took me some time to really fall in love with 2011 (especially since that followed Metropolis) so maybe Im in the same boat again this year. The unis do look much better in action than they did on the concept sketch.

That pic is from encore... not everyone stays for encore and no scores were announced so even more people probably didnt stick around.

Will be interesting to see where BAC fits into that pile up!

With that, BDs winning streak is over. Glad that ended before it started. (no offense to BD, I just like close/back and forth competition)

1. Bucs 2. C2 3. Cabs 4. Fusion 6. Bush Bucs will be around 80.00 for score. Cadets2 and Cabs will be tight with each other but will be ~4.50 behind the Bucs.

As I said when they first released this and as Kyle B has mentioned now, there is just not enough content for the price. I cant help but compare it to DCIs fan network. SO much more bang for the buck there. If DCA were to offer this for say... $35-40 then I would highly consider it but thats not the case. Until they lower the price (which wont happen) or have a larger selection, I will not purchase a sub. If someone could answer this though- what is the video quality like and what is currently in the archive?

I dont like the long jacket. Its just like Academys uniforms and though I like those overall, the long jacket also stinks on them. It will make them look way too short on the field. Just look at any vid of Academy and they look like little kids out there.

Facebook. Several corps go there these days to communicate and give updates. DCP isnt a great tool since its -mostly- drum corps alum that post here. Here is a facebook recap: Empire is looking for a few percussionist, Hurcs are looking for a few hornline, MBI is looking for a few low brass and has a special "unveiling" coming up, Bucs just finished 2nd in a fundraiser awhile back and had their spring review, C2 has new members from Japan and need a baritone player, and [insert any corps] had a great camp such and such weekend. The news is there, just not in forum style for discussion.

I watched both Scholastic and Independent World (live stream) and I too was ready for it to be over before it really was. Its probably just because Im not a drummer and can only handle so much at one time but... if someone like me who loves the marching arts cant watch that much at one time, I doubt the average joe could either. I dont think DCI Finals is too long though. Now, to people who travel long distances to watch WGI live, I doubt they have a problem with the length. More bang for the buck.

I dont know... I hear that extra inch makes a difference.

If I like the corps and the shirt design, I will buy it. I have actually been pretty disappointed with corps shirts lately. Seems like less corps are offering a plain shirt with the corp logo on it. Simple is good.

I bet if you asked anyone involved in the administration at LOS... they wouldnt say 6.1% isnt very much. Thats revenue that otherwise wouldnt be coming in. 3 days of ticket sales to take a portion of, 3 days of people using the concessions, 3 days of people popping into the Colts souvie store (that otherwise wouldnt), plus whatever DCI pays to use the facility. Not to mention the boom for hotels and restaurants in the area. If I was running LOS... I would do what I had to do to please DCI. There could be an unknown factor in all of this too so we cant assume LOS simply doesnt want to change out the logo.

The jackets were new in 2009 (white and silver combo) and they used them for 2010 as well with a different sash-thing. Then they got new jackets in 2011 (white and black combo) and just replaced the chest logo for 2012. Im pretty sure thats right.

The colts helmet is a sewn in section of turf that is removable. It is not painted on (as pointed out by someone else in a different thread). I doubt its a simple swap and probably takes time to get set in correctly.
