  1. This sounds like a great way to raise funds. I'm sure there are plenty of local businesses that love having corps hail from their town. Maybe they could also set up something with a local business where they can send some membership over to volunteer in whatever way they can, without violating any labor laws or company policy, as a chance to credit some of that donation towards their fees, same as if they were fundraising door to door! Just a thought
  2. Can't wait to hear the hornline! Congratulations to all involved for growing this unit. It has come a long way since 09!
  3. Actually, Ayala has had a very well structured and successful Marching Band for many, many years. I believe they even compete in more than one circuit, but if I'm not mistaken, they usually place pretty well in WBA.
  4. I've kind of wondered that myself. It's not many corps community people that say it, but it is significant enough that I've noticed. At least over here in CA, I've heard "cymbal line" or "cymbals" a lot more than "plates".
  5. Ok, I see it now on the website. Yeah, then in that case, for those not actively involved in the inner workings of drum corps and all the details, I would say yes, they would all be "Drum Corps [international] Shows" in the eyes of the general ticket-buyer. Would the general show spectator care that all this is happening? I'm not sure I could answer that one
  6. I think, aside from the show's Title and who is running it (DCI or MIM), you have to consider, what percentage of fans purchase their tickets online via DCI.org for any given show? And, are the MIM shows being advertised on DCI.org as well? If they are not, then some people may not even know there is a show with X corps performing locally...they may just go to the nearest DCI hosted show without even knowing about this movement.
  7. ...somewhere along those lines, it makes you wonder why Cymbal Lines weren't included in the poll. Although their splits occur less frequently, they are still just as impressive to watch.
  8. The drill charts would have their dot with a ten foot radius drawn around the dot.
  9. Nothing is for sale or being spammed, there are complimentary downloads of Brass exercises and sequences being shared in the Brass forum. If a moderator would like to move this to the "spam" or "marketplace" forum, that is acceptable. Thank you.
  10. We have published 5 new hornline exercises, available for download today! 2 Horn Arc warm-ups 2 Marching & Playing combo exercises 1 Chord Sequence Click to see the full story Thank you for choosing Hans Maestro Music!
  11. I'm not sure a "battle" would translate into adding things in to the activity, such as woodwinds. It would be nice if they decided to bring finals to California, but that doesn't say "battle" to me either. Hmmm, maybe the word "battle" could translate into "challenge" and they are probably going to announce the recruitment for ambassadors again, and the challenge will be to fill the theatres in the early season fathom events casts? Now I'm thinking too far into it. I'm sure it's not G7 related, or else it would say "war" and not "battle" (KIDDING!) :tongue:/>
  12. Horn arc at the beach?? Who would say no to that??!?!
  13. The new Jersey Surf, with a hint of Bridgemen/Velvet Knights would be a great group to pull something like that off, because you can add the cocky soloist into the humor of it
