I have some horrible news.... I understand that it's not related to DCI..... but if I'm not completely focused on The Cavaliers this weekend this is why. If yall remember my posts during Hurricane Harvey, there was a lady that was basically my second mother... she needed help getting out of her apartment as the water started to heavily rise. I swam and did what I could to help her and others in my apartment complex... keep in mind that I have known them for practically my entire life.... She just passed away a couple of hours ago. I don't even know exactly what happened.... but we have chosen the corps song to be played at the funeral. We mean no disrespect... when I moved back to Houston about 10 years ago she provided a roof over my head, listened to me, loved the fact that I'm obsessed with the greatest corps in the planet, and encouraged me to keep fighting for what I love. I know she is flying over us.... and I know for a fact she is going to cheer for The Cavaliers this weekend. C'mon men! We have to finish extremely strong this Saturday! NO FEAR CAVALIERS!

They turned it up once they got to Texas. The energy they had in Tomball was amazing! I'm temporarily working overnights (hey, being a boss has certain responsibilities) and I had a thought while I was working... The Cavaliers finished with a score of 90.6 in 2022. And yesterday they finished with a score of 91.6.... they can shock a lot of folks come finals and jump a placement or two. They have already shown an extreme amount of improvement and consistently make me want take eat multiple slices of humble pie.

I'm amazed that no one on the prediction threads aren't noticing what The Cavaliers are doing at the moment. There is a possibility have a 6th or 5th place finish.

Man, I have to work overnights this week and I'm going to miss the show.... at least I can catch semis and finals.

This can definitely happen. And look at the freaking Troopers!!!!!!

It's strange. Just the other day I was looking at the Klein ISD calander and they basically have a shorter summer. They added more breaks during the school year...

I don't exactly know, but I might have an idea.... Again at the Tomball show, two staff members sat in seats they didn't pay for. The two that paid for the seats got up to get something quick to eat. The attitude I got from them was basically like "well, we are staff soooooo". It just rubbed me the wrong way. It's almost like a superior complex like mindset. The Blue Stars are freaking awesome and they worked like a team last season. This year.... I feel a division between them. Very similar to the feeling I got from The Cavaliers last season. The Blue Stars will remain in finals and I'm sure they will come out swinging for the rest of the season.

I literally just got home from work, I'm off today (I'm going to sleep first though lol.... I'm beat), and I'm hoping everyone has a fantastic run today!!!

I think the poster is going with a premier league approach. But... I can't say I agree with the poster. Are the marchers learning? Are they gaining life experiences to do better down the road? You betcha. It doesn't matter what level they are in.... what matters is the experience.

I'm stuck doing another over night at work.... some really interesting scores from the other corps.

I understand. However, I think that should be addressed. Here is a great example. A student is given a test and they make zero mistakes on the test... so they get a 100. If I see clear mistakes like spacing issues and other things musical and I see in the judging that they got a perfect score... no, it doesn't deserve a perfect score. Just my blue collar sense talking I suppose.
