  1. Lol. This show is so NOT Political. What a bunch of @$$h@/&$! On here..
  2. They'll do great! They are a talented and hard working bunch of Cadets...
  3. The Cadets show is about America, not politics. Anyone bringing politics up with reference to this show are haters planting negative seeds. Go back to your homer corps thread.
  4. That spread is basically what it has been. I think the Cadets should be relatively comfortable with the changes this weekend to hopefully close that gap between tehm and BD. Clock is ticking. Cadets guard is awesome. What a difference from the trainwreck last season.
  5. All the new changes (increased tempos, brass impact points and the new ending) will not win over fans who don't like the show but it will add effect to the show which is what Cadets require competitively. A run and gun ending would have been too much of a "tagged on" ending. I also feel the show is uber controlled as it is and needed a more loose, energetic and emotional ending, not more "drill". Artistically, I think its consistent with the design. If you don't like the design, then no changes were going to pull you in. I think the Cadets have been very good with their changes this season.
  6. Although I was "ok" with the old ending, the overall show is extremely controlled and the new ending is much more passionate and energetic. I think it should appeal to the judges who love the show but want more connection to the audience. This brings the corps literally up to the side lines (and stage) and screams energy. It works..
  7. The show is loaded with narration and audio clips since day one. People that hate that will hate it but the changes are effective and consistent with the artistic integrity of the show. I think the biggest "missing link" was the emotional factor and this has it. Just an aside, they cranked tempos throughout the show and added brass impact where I always thought it lacked. Lastly, this corps is at such I high level of performance it's scary. And that guard is heaven send. Just amazing. Like those great April Gilligan guards of yesteryear.
  8. They pull out the tarps at the end which is just part of the visual and musical excitement. Just a lot of energy in that last few moments vs, before when they stood in that arc for what seemed like 20 minutes playing the final chord. Entire closer was torn apart and rewritten. Narration rewritten and placed at the end of the show. Much more "effect" now plus they extended the final chord where guard throws down equipment and breaks through brass as brass breaks out of final arc. More "loose and emotional'. Changes seamlessly weaved into show so doesn't look like a tagged on new ending. I think you'll love it. Great crowd response at the rehearsal!
  9. It's amazing the irrational exuberance these DCI judges have for BD. They're excellent but come on...Not to mention the 102 they'll get at finals. (Extra credit for sexy guard costumes).
  10. The Cadets new ending is very effective. It connects to the audience more. This overall show is very exposed, uber controlled and it needed this. Nice changes Cadets. Dear lord, that guard is exquisite!
  11. You nailed it. We fans watch the overall show and love or hate them and or indifferent. Judges look at their slice and really dissect it. All those critical eyes super analysing each show. That's where the scores come from not how many people like your sound bend or narrator or trampolines.
  12. They're dirty and too revealing. Love them!
  13. Didn't know we had a ballad. If it increases effect, you can call it whatever you want. They increased the tempos throughout the entire show. Really injects energy. Curious why they waited so long to do this...
  14. The judges may like the Cadets 2014 to represent the DCI world by their extremely high level of execution and performance. As far as GE, I think it was super smart for them to be the last of the top 5 to make changes. It will engage the judges and MM's at the end of a long season.
  15. It's going to be a 2010 scenerio. Bloo going in with the possibility of winning it all. Rest depends on panels and frankly what BD and even Cadets bring to the table. Bloo has a fan favorite show this year by far, and that injects energy and momentum, but judges did abit deeper than that.
  16. Hmmm, I know all of us on DCP are so insightful, but I think the Cadets staff, listening to tapes, looking at scores and knowing the show, will know what changes to put in. They scrapped the entire ending. That anticlimactic ending was my biggest criticism especially after the soft ending last season. Obviously, it must be appropriate to the music and I'm not sure what alterations they are doing there but I'm excited to see that and the minor adjustments they made to the rest of the show, I did acknowledge the increased tempos throughout the show Saturday night and thought that injected some more inspiration.
  17. Ok Cadets. Next show will feature the changes. Hoping for a boost in the emotion and energy level. A signature visual ending better be in the cards. You have corps closer to you than you are to BD. Time for a cadets end of the year surge.. You can do this!
  18. Cadets changes should help their GE scores and will edge closer to BD but not sure if they will catch them. Crown was behind SCV and past them so not sure about "SCV catching up to Crown".
  19. They cranked the tempos last night going forward and the new changes go into effect at the next show. Hopefully we can get you to enjoy the show..
  20. Whatever the planned score was for tonight.
  21. Wow, just checked into the Boston thread.. Hmmm, I think I'll go back to the Cadets bashing on the Cadets thread.
