  1. Good question. I've heard it both ways. Last I heard, these scores would be announced. Just don't quote me. :tongue:/>
  2. Thanks Whiskey for being our eyes and ears! Good luck to ALL the Corps! Go Crown!!!
  3. Just saw a complete run-through in uniform (except for guard) in prep for tomorrow night's Preview Show. And it looks like Spirit has another great, high-energy show. Of course it needs work, but even this early you can definitely see the potential. Can't wait for the Cinema show. <(
  4. Couldn't agree more! Best of luck to all the Corps!
  5. LOL! I wish the mobile version of the forums would let me give green +'s. ++++++++!!!!!!
  6. I think everyone knows the closer you hear in June won't be the closer you hear at Finals. I love what I'm hearing now, but I can't wait to hear the show in August.
  7. Like you, I don't know where this is going. At one of the last camps (or maybe the start of all-days), there were 4 vocalists--2 male and 2 female. At the preview show, I think there were only 3--missing a male--but there were still 4 mics setup. IMHO--If you're going to use the "singing", let's do it with the vocalists and not the synths. That's easy for me to say--I don't have to sing it! My tongue gets warped just thinking about all those notes! :tongue:/>
  8. Thanks much! I shoulda used the computer instead of the phone to search the site.
  9. Sorry if this was asked previously but where is Crown staying in Nashville? Apparently the son is too busy working on the show to communicate said info to his Old Man. Many thanks!
  10. I, too, was a little concerned about Crown's new uniform but wanted to see it live before judging. I attended the preview show this past weekend and even though they didn't march, the Corps looked really good. I expect they will look even better in motion. That being said, frankly after the full brass entered on "2001", I didn't give the uniforms a second thought. In the closed gym, the effect was ear-shattering. Loved every minute of it!!!
  11. Thanks! I'll wait until I get back to a computer. The last time I switched to the full version on my phone, is was nearly impossible to switch back.
  12. I don't think you can vote using a smart phone. If so, please tell me how. Thanks.
  13. Now a flash or two of lightning and they're packing up. Oh well--safety first!
  14. Watching ensemble. Some sprinkles in the area, but just cooling things off. Hope it will be clear tonight. Sounding good--lots of notes!
  15. Will try to catch Crown's and Spirit's "preview" shows before they leave Spring Training. Then: Movie Opelika, AL (probably) Atlanta Indy Plus any Fan Network streaming. kaseyW: +1. Have a great season!!!!
  16. A bit of copyright trivia: The other night, the movie "Charade" was playing on one of the movie channels. IMDb notes that when the movie was released in 1963, it was immediately public domain. Seems the studio had forgotten to include "Copyright", "Copr." or the "©" symbol in the copyright notice as required by the copyright law at that time. Mancini's music IS copyrighted outside of the context of the movie. I guess things like this are why copyright holders get so paranoid at times.
  17. I've helped out a couple times washing Crown's unis. We usually went to the laundromat with a couple pounds of quarters. The lady in charge had her special formula for getting grass stains out of the knees and backsides of those cream pants (why were the grass fields always wet???). [i understand this might not be as much a problem this season with the rumored change of colors.] Wrinkle resistant: I think Crown's unis were somewhat wrinkle resistant, but we laid them out carefully in the dryer and promptly hung them back in the garment bags after they were dry.
  18. I'm the one who did this for about 2 seasons. Just some general comments: The biggest problem I had with the pit was not really the amps, but someone smacking the concert bass drum. That would quickly jump up the dB count (especially during Prelims when I sat in the "blast zone"), unless you had a meter which would take a rolling average. Someone mentioned a phone app. For gee whiz kind of numbers, that would probably be fine. But the microphone in your typical smart phone would not be a good as the mic in even my cheap Radio Shack sound meter. As I mentioned in previous seasons, the guys who can give you the best numbers are the ones recording for DCI. Finally, since I have a son aging out this year, I think I'll just sit back and enjoy all the performances this season. If someone want to continue this endeavor, go for it. Let me know if you have any questions. later, randy
  19. Been to Finals from 2009 to 2012. Just bought tickets for 2013.
  20. I was thinking the same thing. Could a DCI Corps without the resources to support a touring Open Class feeder corps use these groups to help nurture future members? I like the idea.
