Upper Perk HS Marching Band: Opening for the 2008 OUTDOOR Marching Band Season. Our design meetings have already begun, and looking to fill an opening in the staff for next year's marching band season. Colorguard Instructor: We are seeking someone to run the day-to-day activities for the colorguard at Upper Perkiomen HS. We have someone to coordinate the costuming & visual ideas and to write a small portion of the field show, but we’re in need of someone to implement a technique program on flag (and movement, if possible) and to handle the majority of the writing responsibilities. We would like someone who can teach drop spins, peggy spins, pull-hits, tosses, cones (crazy 8’s). We expect the majority of the guard to be freshmen, so this will be a beginner program in need of someone capable & willing to create a solid program. We compete in Cavalcade of Bands, American Division. Upper Perk HS is located in Pennsburg, PA, between Boyertown and Quakertown. We will be rehearsing Tues and Thurs nights, a two week band camp, with several sectional rehearsals throughout the summer.

I wanted to see if anyone has encountered this: We have a student in the HS marching band that has limited use of this right hand/arm. Right now we have him playing mellophone using his LEFT hand to finger the notes and using this right arm/hand to keep the horn up. We are thinking of adding a strap to the mello so that it would be easier to keep his horn up. Any suggestions or ideas?? Please email me abelm98@hotmail.com Thank you!! Abel

Walt is one hell of a marcher/musician and always gave 150% in the Bucs mello line in 2005. Ok Everyone. Heres your chance to speak your opinion about Mellophones. I personally think G mellos produce much more sound than your typical F mellophones. Just compare any of the mellophone lines from the Cadets prior to changing over to the F horns. After listening to them now I actually have to struggle to listen to some of the mello runs in their shows. Does anyone else agree???
