I marched Pioneer but live much closer to the colts and even auditioned for them, but felt more comfortable at pio even though we were last or next to last every year. For me it wasn't about placement but the overall drum corps experience. Don't get me wrong I would've loved to march semi's or finals but I had just as much fun at a lower placing coprs. Also I agree with Skajerk that most people choose coprs' based on style even if its a lower placing coprs. In my opinion its better to be comfortable marching at a lower placing corps than to march a top 12 corps and hate it.

Why are a lot of corps waiting to announce their shows? Usually at this time of year almost all the corps' have announced what their show is for the year.

Roman goes to the field band championships every year and gets some kids to fill out some smaller sectons. Also every year that I marched (04-08) we had around 5 south africans in the corps.

I was at the last camp and they had 3 tenor players. So yes it looks like pio will have a more traditional drumline this year.

I remember in 05 both crossmen and esperanza had Crossroads as their show themes.

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but the field pass isn't updating on my itunes. The last one I have is from september and I know that there are more that have come out.

I think teal sound should do an Evanescence show.

I think for one season each corps should redo a show from their past or another corps' past. Exactly how it was written musically and obviously the drill would have to be changed. On my way to a pioneer camp in 2007 I stopped in Dodgeville, WI to eat at McDonalds. About midway through my meal the guys sitting behind me asked if I was in pioneer, and I said yes. They noticed I was wearing my 2006 emeraldscapes shirt. I asked them if they were dci fans and they said that they were members of the madison scouts and they were on their way to a scouts camp. Then we exchanged dci stories. The weirdest part was they went to college close to where im from.

Or if they ran like pioneer.

I just watched it for the first time today and its at about the 10:30 mark on the dvd. I like how kristensen just bounced right back up and right back to work.
