First Flight-
People watching…. For most of us, it is one of our favorite pastimes.
"What's she saying?" "What is he doing?" "What is the story behind that couple?" These are the kinds of questions we ask ourselves as we plot the storyline of a real life miniseries right before our very eyes. And there is no better place to watch the drama unfold than a bustling city on a working day. Such is the premise and setting for First Flight Winter Guard's 2011 production, "Street Promenade".
Paramount-
There are roughly 6.8 billion people on the planet. Each with a life journey as complex as the world itself. On a constant path of self-discovery, we all seek to answer simplest, yet possibly the most difficult question of all -- "Who am I?"
How do each of us fit into the vast story of the universe? Whether we choose to live a life of isolation, or involve ourselves in the large or small communities around us, we each live within our own world, within our own mind, and within our own skin.
Thus became the basic motivation for the 2011 Paramount Winterguard concept, "One in a Million." The show is about finding your own voice, and how exhilarating and freeing or lonely and frightening that can be. For some, embracing and accepting themselves is a painful and difficult experience. For others, it's an act of empowerment and rebellion. Regardless, the world keeps turning. It's only when we look within and begin to appreciate our own uniqueness that the act of being "special" can just happen naturally.

Performing to a beautiful piano version of "Shall we Dance". An opening dance segment, stage left, with beautiful lifts and steps that leads into a wonderful duo sabre toss. First layer of blue flags are introduced showcasing the elegant movement coupled with rippled tosses. Control throughout the whole program continues while the tarp is pulled from front to center to reveal a wonderfully colored print leading into a beautiful flag feature with cranberry colored silks. A wonderful rifle toss and exchange brought a loud cheer from the audience. Excellent control from beginning to end with a beautiful tune.
