  1. If you look back at 2011, the Colts logo was covered up. I don't remember why it was then, or why it wasn't this past year, but I am sure there is a reason. But there are logos in many past years videos, and it is an obvious way to show where these shows took place. Nothing much DCI can do about it if the stadium has an opening game the week after finals or something...
  2. Well it's not the chorale I was thinking of when I saw this was about Star. I first thought of "O Sacred Head", which is among my favorite chorales. Simple but great.
  3. There's definitely a lot of corps nowadays that are stepping up their game, which is awesome to see. I do believe the biggest change will be coming from Lacrosse, WI. The Blue Stars will have a phenomenal drumline/front ensemble, which will likely place top 6 (just check out Pulse indoor percussion). The brass staff has a lot of experience (compared to last year's). Not to mention one of the best arrangers DCI has seen, Richard Saucedo. He has been judging, and will most likely write a book that corresponds nicely with the sheets. And on top of this, they will be wearing new uniforms (blue, not grey)! Pacific Crest will definitely show a lot of improvement from last year, which will also be cool to see. The brass section improved so much on the tail-end of the season. For these two groups to move up, others need to move down. No one can really make that call this early on, but if I had to move groups out of finals it would be BK and Spirit. BK lost a lot of staff, and Spirit needs to push the box more with design in my honest opinion. But I'm also not sure if Pacific Crest will make it into the top 12 yet, but will be knocking at the door all season. I would like them to prove me wrong and have phenomenal shows, but I also believe the two aforementioned corps are on the right track to having a great 2013 season.
  4. From what I heard from someone in the audience during their ensemble at the end of camp - This show will be something completely different, and very dark. They said the drumline is already sounding incredible, and I can believe it with the new staff. Also heard there are some interesting pit effects taking place (but don't want to spoil any surprises by saying what). I look forward to seeing this show being announced soon hopefully, because it sounds more along the lines of Houdini than anything.
  5. The Cadets posted this video from camp this past weekend:
  6. SO looking forward to this show. Three of my favorite pieces of music, not to mention SCV 99, and 2000's ballad. And hey, no sync/copyright issues! (for now...)
  7. Well, nothing from 2000-2008! But seriously, I don't think groups should look at what was successful in the past and try to replicate, but rather innovate and come up with something new and amazing.
  8. Well rumors are confirmed. They are definitely pulling in some great people in the activity. Should make for an interesting year to say the least. http://www.bluestars.org/story.php?story_id=665
  9. My guess is yes. I couldn't see Shapiro leaving without the directors acknowledging the amazing work he has done since he was introduced a few years back.
  10. Blue Stars are revamping their entire design and instructional staff it seems: http://www.bluestars...hp?story_id=663 -It sounds like Frank Sullivan left, but will still serve a small part in the staff. -Aungst and Larrivee are leaving, but reasons unknown. -Visual caption head and brass caption head also mentioned as leaving. -And it sounds like there will not be drill by Myron Rosander again. He seems to be a "one and done" writer nowadays, and I am beginning to see why... Could be a great thing for this organization to have a fresh staff, under the direction of the same corps executive director for a long time running (Brad Furlano). He should have an idea of things that work and things that don't by now. Interested to see who they pick up. And I believe next year they will have new uniforms, so goodbye grey, hello new(blue?)
  11. These are interesting .... Blue Stars must have really, really cleaned since Saturday. Never mind clicked on the Twitter Handle...makes sense now. What I saw on Saturday, The Blue stars are still working on getting their very tough visual program under their feet, Madison is not having nearly as many visual mistakes as the Stars at this stage in the game
  12. I can't tell if they like it or not...they complain about the dancing, then put intense...
  13. Performance order is done in groups of three based of off last years final placements. That is why Madison (10), Blue Stars (11), and Spirit (12) have been switching performance slots so much this year. Colts are on last because it is a home show for them.
  14. I think I like this years Cavies show more now....
  15. Via Facebook: Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps Thanks to everyone who came out to RCR-La Crosse tonight. We almost made it to the end. Here are the results from tonight for the corps that concluded (Boston did not perform a full show, and therefore was not given a score). Legends 73.6 Troopers 71.25 The Academy 72.65 Glassmen 73.35 Bluecoats 81.70
  16. Yeah...those post were a pretty poor decision on his part. I understand the frustation he is feeling, but staff has to take the high road.
  17. Tomorrow's weather looks great! http://www.weather.com/weather/tomorrow/Minneapolis+MN+USMN0503:1:US
  18. I know, my iPhone does that to me all the time!!! Rather annoying!
  19. Still wouldn't have gotten the whole show in... Should have started an hour early (went off of Eastern time )
  20. really.... of all people..... maybe he did it on purpose to see if anyone notices......
  21. I really hope both of the shows get in tonight! Rain is threatening both of them!! At least the chance of rain for Minneapolis tomorrow has gone away!
