  2. Hi Cam is now LOGISTICS CAM! Gotta love a single gate show.
  3. 4. I got it and I'm watching hi cam (usually don't but for this venue i want to). Unless you have a 90" screen with an 8k feed, you just don't get enough detail in the hi cam view. But you get to see whole show!
  5. BTW all these reps are from http://dcxmuseum.org (thanks Chris!)

  7. Simple theme that lends itself it very thematic music. Thanks MC. That works really well for you.
  8. This all feels like movie music to me. Very much "life in the city" feeling.
  9. Certainly a better written show. Wish the guard was a little stronger. That's always been a saving grace at Surf. Looks to be smaller and even younger this year. We'll see what being on the road does to strengthen them!
  10. Surf's rep: FantaSea Oceans by Goff Richards Moses and Marco Polo Suite by Ennio Morricone The Legend of Atlan (from Aquaman) by Rupert Gregson-Williams Op. 28: The Sea, Fantasy in E major for Orchestra by Alexander Glazunov Aurora Awakes by John Mackey He Commands the Sea (from Aquaman) by Rupert Gregson-Williams
  11. Time to break out that long list of sun gods and start invoking deities.
  12. Oh and Thrower’s arrangement is sheer genius. Next to Crown, Bluecoats have been my favorite brass line for a decade. Severely overlooked IMHO.
  13. That’s not my intention. It’s just that Ravi’s influence far exceeded the Beatles. Amazing really. There were a LOT of influential people he managed to reach. And lot of those people influenced the Beatles. No trolling Bloo. Said from the first show I was in love.
  14. Calling a show a beast is long standing metaphor for me. Always asked performers 'would the beast own them or would they own the beast?' The moment that transition from one to the other occurs is a very rewarding experience for a designer/instructor. In any case -- tying this to Beast -- this year is clearly a reflection of learning from last year's experiences. (so there - I tied them together as well)
  15. The Kinks? The Yardbirds? David Crosby? Coltrane? Heck Yehudi Menuhin (sp?) ?The Beatles were a phenomenon but they didn't break that ground.
  16. Honestly I don't understand the pre-occupation with props. You climb on them, sit on them, push them around, stand and play on them (oh and bang on them). It's not innovative AT ALL. Heck Crown was climbing up and playing on props in 2011! This has all been done before. Lots of times. The only element I see increasing is the performer risk. Just makes no sense at all to me. I'm really, really glad Crown is marching actual drill. </rant>
