  1. Just heard that Fred Morrison, executive director of the Crossmen, has been named the DCI Corps Director of the Year! The award will be presented this evening. No matter their placement, Bones is an excellent program all around! Congratulations to all!
  2. He is indeed. In fact, he's that open about what he thinks about everything.
  3. Mr. Clean has been showing up at Crossmen rehearsals and it paid off! Great job Bones!
  4. Scores are up on DCI http://www.dci.org/scores/index.cfm?event=3b5ad62d-8173-4cc6-8260-b04dc095ce8f
  5. I went to the movies with some friends whose son is marching his first year in DCI with PR. We had a blast! (no pun intended...) My favorite shows were Cavies, Regiment and Bluecoats. Cavies... Yes they were very dirty musically and with the drill, but I still loved it! Great theme which was played all the way through the show with their drill, props and music. Besides, who doesn't love the theme to Star Trek? Bluecoats... Wow. Another great theme and played so well; very clean too. It was cool to see the guard dressed in street clothes. My favorite was the girl dressed as a member of the military. And the balloons-- brilliant as a prop and to carry the theme of the show. A beautiful slice of Americana. Regiment... Absolutely the best story telling in the business. It is a beautiful show. How they can march, play and carry trees all at the same time is astounding. Loved the guard changing from "damsel in distress", romantic dresses to "warrior queens". Drill is great and music is fabulous. In my world, no one can touch their brass line. The rest of the corps were fine, they just weren't able to reach me emotionally and that's the most important section on my armchair judge's sheet. Congratulations to all the corps. It's going to be a great season.
  6. Only if you're really lucky!!! :thumbup:/>
  7. SOA was coming out of the tunnel and walking past Bones when the Blue Stars were announced. They stopped and hugged over half of the member of Crossmen. It's good to have family bonds and friend to celebrate with.
  8. What a blessing to read this letter. Thank you for sharing these precious words. I am crying too... happy tears.
  9. from drumcorpswiki... "Bones is a character who appears before the Crossmen at select performances throughout the summer. He is dressed in the original long ankle-length red-lined cape. The uniform is the late 70's black version with the large red and white stripes criss-crossing the chest. Look for him to make a sudden appearance up in the back side stands to the fans' delight as the Crossmen take the field in most regional DCI shows. The crowd roars as he extends his cape out to a full red flush. With his face covered by a skeleton mask, Bones' true identity remains a mystery, yet Bones remains a stalwart reminder of the corps' tradition." Bones represents the ones who came before; to remind you of all who support you and whose tradition you are now charged to uphold. He usually leaves after the opener and the members do not see him except from the field.
  10. Congratulations to our Beloved Bones! Disney himself could not have written a better comeback story.
  11. To my knowledge, Crossmen have not performed right next to BS or BK this season. Thursday will be the first time they go head to head. This could make all the difference in the world and I am SO hopeful they can make it to finals.
