  1. If you can afford it, it's hard to beat The Weber Grill. Otherwise, there's always the Steak 'n' Shake.
  2. You better get there early! It's sold out!
  3. A couple years ago we waited until the last minute to buy our tickets, only to find out that a high school band bought out the entire theatre. We had to go to another theatre 10 miles away, which was maybe 1/4 full of people So last year we bought our tickets early for our nearby theatre, and the theatre was 1/4 full. This year, I tried to get tickets Sunday night and it was sold out! So we will be driving 10 miles to go to the other theatre, which will probably have 15 or 20 people in it.
  4. During the Atlanta simulcast there was a 30 second message that you could sumbit age out photos to Ageout@dci.org. I don't know how or when they're going to use the photos, but I sent one, and the e-mail didn't get kicked back.
  5. HMM, I guess I got away with something? Maybe every venue or security person at the front door is different. I was at San Antonio an walked in with my DSLR with standard and telephoto lens. There was a guy a couple rows in front of me with a lens about a foot long, snapping away. I go to the San Antonio show every year, and we've always walked in with a regular DSLR camera, bigger than a little point and shoot, no problems. I have been to the Berry Center in Houston for DCI events, and they didn't allow any cameras, period.
  6. I've got an age-out marching this year. Going to have to adopt a kid next summer.
  7. My son has marched with Mapex. He hated them. They're very heavy.
  8. A lot of times it's the judge that gets plowed into
  9. My brain has been playing the ending of the Firebird Suite all day.
  10. Interesting choice of plume color you ain't seen nothin yet
  11. I got my dish of Blue Bell Ice cream, watching Olympics with one eye, waiting for comments about BK's show with the other!
  12. I heard the plume change was going to be added soon. Can't wait to see the show in San Antonio Saturday!!
  13. Wow, there are some very passionate Trooper fans out there! Here are a few comments: I have recordings of the 2007, 2008, and 2009 Trooper shows I play in my car. I do not have the 2010, 2011, or 2012 shows. There is a yellow Trooper scarf tied to the night table next to my bed. It looks lost. Someone pointed out in a previous post that last year there was only 1 age out left over from 2007. Can anyone tell me why that is? By the way, my son marched with the Troopers in 07, 08, and 09. He was on the field in the Lucas Oil Dome when the announcement was made that the Troopers made the finals. That show really connected with a lot of people, young, old, musicians, educators, judges. I think change is good, but change for the sake of change, not so good.
  14. Are the times for the top 15 same as last night, starting at 6:40? If so I will have to drive home from work like Jimmie Johnson to make it in time.
  15. AMC 24 First Colony Sugar Land, Texas. A couple years ago, we thought we could just walk up the day of the show and buy tickets. Sold Out! Had to drive like a maniac to next closest theatre 17 miles away. Lesson learned, we have our tickets.
  16. Allentown radar not looking good. Hope they get the show in.
  17. Yes, my son just called and said he got fed some pasta before the show, and they were getting fed after the show, too. That's really nice of them to do that.
  18. I'll take Trooper Trivia for $200, Alex
  19. Was there an INT between PC and Academy?
  20. Academy's been working their tails off trying to move up. But then so has everyone else!
