  9. Thanks to all for the best wishes on the Grenadiers 50th Anniversary. A really good time was had by all. For such a busy day Saturday I was amazed on how hard the corps worked Sunday. Time to stop the talk and walk the walk. Cheers DLD
  10. Tom: That was the Kingston Memorial Center about a 10 minute march from Richardson Stadium on Queens campus. Later on we mastered the fine art of building beer castles and it was always the mission to build one bigger than the Roylaires of course. My buddy John kept a close eye on things because at some point at the after party there was always attempts at sabotage.haha
  11. Big day in K-Town for the Grenadiers tomorrow. Corps and alumni will be escorted down Princess Street to city hall. We will play a bit and back to the Montreal Street Armouries for a get together and a warm up for the banquet at the Ambassador Convention Center. Doug Orser will be the first inductee to our Hall of Fame . An amazing path which began as The Princess of Wales Turmpet Band. Thanks to all our fans, friends, volunteers and members from years gone by. With out you it just doesn't happen. Don
  12. A very kind genuine man. Rest in peace Bruce. Don Dean
  13. Great pit and amazing talent for the age group I must say. Ed Gudlauski is doing a good job of coordinating things and makes the trip up from Utica for every camp! Just love to listen when they ensemble with the battery. Dave Simpson has done the writing for the front ensemble and with Scott Atkins amazing battery stuff it is a beautiful thing. Little wonder this program excels every year. Yes we need a player or 2 but it is also a great opportunity for someone to enjoy the benefits of a well coordinated program which includes you too Rob! Hey I`m a little biased but love my corps man! Cheers DLD
  14. Ah Yes "Jimmy the Lip" great guy! We have a few spots to go in the brass section and a vibe player would be cool too. Stretch drive is on so check our page for dates and times. Also a mention of Grenadier Day on June 13th. The corps will have a parade from the Montreal Street Armories where it all began to City Hall. We will play a few numbers and do some warm up stuff for the crowd. After a short visit to the Officers Mess at the Armories we will make our way out to the Ambassador Convention Center for a banquet and celebration. All the details are on the home page and open to all. Thanks DLD
  15. Mario has some and so did Ben Shephard. I`m sure Glenn`s had "RBT" somewhere in the lyrics.

  19. Grenadiers are holding camp this weekend in Odessa On. just west of Kingston off the 401. The corps is finishing up the book and as ususal it will be an entertaining show which all we can wish for. So check out our home page www.kingstongrenadiers.com The percussion section is on fire with a strong winter and the guard could use a few more members but they are working very hard. The focus right now is filling the remainder of our brass section so if you think this might be a fit for you by all means check us out. So fellow Canuckians get off the couch and check out Canada`s corps in DCA. You will find our rehearsal and summer schedule on our home page. DLD

  21. Grenadiers camp in Ottawa was by all counts a success. We had visitors from several music programs in the area including a group who were visiting from Saskatchewan!! Sunday was clinic day and many who dropped by Saturday returned Sunday. Yes Tom as predicted Maurice was by and gave me his blessing! It was great to see all my old friends who came out to support the corps and we will be returning at some point hopefully soon! For more general information and recruitment contacts check our page www.kingstongrenadiers.com DLD
  22. You bet John. Not all work though I don`t think. Brent is taking me to the Sen`s and Sabres. Grennies are really excited to be making the trip. We will be crowning a Grenadier "Guitar Hero" Saturday night so that should be fun! Intro, Opener and drum break should be rockin Sunday!
  23. Will do John. The Heritage Hands is a great collection of chops. The weather looks a little wet but warmer and I am also wearing the truck driver hat as more than one director has to in DCA. DLD
  24. Tom, I am being very careful and I`m sure Maurice will pay a visit over the weekend. I know some of my buddies from La Salle Cadets(Heritage Hands) will be dropping in . This area has a rich history in the activity as you know and no I am not going to Hull Que. after rehearsal! Several educators who are corps members from the region are expecting a good turn out from the High Schools in the area. Cheers Don
