  1. Here's to hoping for Colts success this season! And to hoping that Sully doesn't impose another ridiculous alien bird show on the drum corps community...
  2. Sorry, should have been more specific. I was talking hornline. See the baritone behind the middle snare? That's what I'm talking about.
  3. Who's seen an action shot of a cavalier moving that had legs in it? I sure haven't. That technique just doesn't look as good as straight legs. Bent knee is easier, certainly, but I have yet to see a cavalier looking anywhere near as good as someone from another team that uses straight leg from an individual body control standpoint. Irrelevant, but I a rumor that the green team takes turns playing movements of their show. Thoughts?
  4. Bones is going with 12. Been hearing some excellent sounds from the dogs this year.
  5. If they got slightly longer tops, maybe they could pull it off. I like the black and white with the earth theme though. It's cool contrast. The white would give the corps some more field presence too.
  6. According to Bones admin, those white pants are "just a product test". I don't believe it.
  7. From their facebook page: Spirit of Atlanta presents SIN CITY 2012. Come to play... Music to include Frank Loesser, Lalo Schifrin, John Mackey, Stefani Germanotta, and John Powell.
  8. No Cadets here... We don't mess with the seasons. #ChristmasShowJokeFail
  9. With this hipster thing taking hold, most corps who haven't announced yet aren't going to simply because it's ironic. Or something.

    CSO music?

I second the Mahler. If not, perhaps Bruckner 8 (finale), Tchaikovsky 4, or Moussorgsky/Ravel's Pictures at an Exhibition.
  11. I think Crossmen or Crown would make The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin sound fantastic as a ballad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4v-_p5dU34
  12. I started practicing multiphonics on a mouthpiece by itself and then adding it to the horn. That helped a lot. The key to sounding good is singing in tune. Easier said than done. Also, the larger the mouthpiece, the better you'll sound.
