  1. I would like to see Cadets tackle Mr.Bungle. Hate to have to arrange it though.
  2. (not sarcasm) Thank you all you have given me alot to think about. I feel like corps could never be for profit. Not without a HUGE change in the business model and a nationwide demand for drum corps. The demand for drum corps will never be high enough This post is, I suppose, the answer I was looking for. I would like to believe in a world where heroes and "Idols" are actuallly well rounded people like those that are created in drum and bugle corps. I know no one is perfect but I think in general maybe better than most. I would rather my children look up to a Trooper DM or a Cadet section leader as a non-familial role-model than what is presented in contemporary media, you know which "reality stars" I mean. The DM's, Section leaders, Gaurd captains, basically all the people who make a Corps get down the road and truly WORK to entertain us should get a little more scratch for their effort. I don't know if this gets my point across and I know that life isn't fair but it shoiuld be a little closer to even than it is.
  3. That's interesting could you explain further? (not sarcasm) I really want to try to help. I'm not a business major or revenuer or solicitor. I just don't want to good kids cut out for being poor.
  4. That is what I'm trying to figure out. Thousands of kids/parents are paying thousands of dollars for the honor (not sarcasm) to march. thousands of fans are paying thousands of dollars to watch the activity. I understand that it costs alot of money to buy drums, horns, guard equipment and to pay instructors and "techs" and then wrap the whole thing up in a travelling show. But, alot of instruments are used, kids are still out of pocket for things like off day meals and laundry, gloves, shoes, soap, essential everyday stuff that's not included by dues but adds up. Even cruises give you fresh towels and shampoo for less than a tour and you dont have to bust your lip.Where does the money go?
  5. Why non-profit ? With the incredible rising cost of operating a world class corps why not try to make some money? Please educate me.
