  1. Hands down - best Bluecoats guard ever. I content that Bloo's guard is the most improved of any finalist guard. I love watching them when I can get my eyes from being glued elsewhere. Incredible performers, design, and how about those guard uni's? Incredible. Nothing better this year. Orange is the new Blue - which is the new GOLD!
  2. Still, a great show in Dublin even though I wish Bloo was there. Good luck - and as always, praying for lots of sunshine! Hopefully I will be able to make the trip to the show.
  3. Hey Bluecoats: enjoy a free day today! You've definitely earned it! Still pumped about your performance last night! This show is the best thing to come along in drum corps in many, many years. TILTing toward the top!
  4. You know if feels good to be a Bluecoats fan when your voice goes hoarse from cheering - at home and not even at the show!
  5. So proud of the Bluecoats! What they've accomplished the past few days proves this season is FAR from decided - and that includes any premature hoisting of the DCI trophy by BD. Go Bloo! Your show is so deserving of the recognition!
  6. Performance order for TOC's irritate me! But I'll get over it!
  7. IF TRUE ... THANK YOU BLOO FOR TURNING UP THE SYNTH VOLUME. Rock the joint like its Akron again! That's what I want. I want my ear drums to burst, bleed and be totally destroyed! The loud synth and the brass line is the most epic thing ever in the history of drum corps. Do not, repeat, DO NOT EVER turn it down again!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
  8. I understand where you're coming from on this. Bloo should best SCV on any given night. However, TOC's have proven to be a little whacky with scores and placement. There have been a few surprises and "interesting" results in the TOC's - notably the tie for 1st in last year's Buffalo show heading into Indy - Impossible (convenient) you say? Tonight will be a great show no matter what, but will prove nothing in final placement. This thing is still wide open with 5 corps fighting for the 3 medal spots. I'm sticking with the Bluecoats to grab one of the three.
  9. It's a TOC. Which means that the judges have yet another chance to drive us crazy with scores that only TOC shows can produce!
  10. Way to go Bloo! Beat SCV tonight. That's more like it! Moving in the right direction. Back in the medal hunt!
  11. Way to go Bloo. Beat SCV tonight. Now, that's more like it!
  12. I can't say for sure why the change was made - just a guess... In a way it's good to put the drum line off the field because they are not involved in the ballad - which places greater focus on the brass and guard. Typically for ballads, corps can't quite figure out what to do with the drum line anyway. Why not just move them off the field during this time of the show? Seems like it makes sense to me.
  13. Let's get a real regional under our belt and then see what happens from there. Traditionally, look for how things go between San Antonio and Atlanta. By Atlanta, we'll know who is surging and who's not. It's only now that the adjustments and changes made will have the biggest impact of those who surge and those who slump. This is the time period where the instructional staff earn their stripes.
  14. Turn up the doggone synth please!!!! The effect was absolutely amazing. This isn't anything to change!!! MORE SYNTH VOLUME PLEASE!!!!
  15. It's ranks as a definite "moment" for the 2014 season.
  16. http://www.thv11.com/story/news/local/2014/07/15/top-drum-corps-gear-up-for-big-show-at-war-memorial/12701211/ Unique notes from the news broadcast: Blue Coats Top Teams TILTed Teeter-totters It's still nice to have free publicity. Thanks KTHV for the coverage!
  17. Is it just me or does it seem that rain clouds continue to follow the dci schedule this year. Darn it!
  18. I guess I should edit what I just wrote. Instead, I'll just say, Yay Band! - and let it go at that.
  19. The members haven't peaked. I'm not going to gripe about the captions or placement- though I sure as heck could if I wanted to. This remains a show without any glarnig holes or weaknesses. Now it's up to the staff to help set the table for the MM to advantage of the opportunity. Don't write them off of a medal just yet. The season is just now getting going. Importantly, this is a show that the members enjoy performing. Given the choice of who we'd like to see, the Bluecoats will continue to top the list for many of us this year. They're already a winner because of it.
  20. The Blue Devils continue to load the field with props. Not crazy about the look of the guard or some of the clutter on the field. Music is much more fan friendly this year though still very much BD-esque. Still waiting for them to breakout from their annual show formula. I know I'm probably going to be in the minority on this, but if BD really wants to be the leader of innovation in drum corps, it's time for them to take a risk with a new look and sound. They have the cache to take such a risk. However, as long as they continue to win or contend for titles, BD will continue to be who they are. I'm not sure that's a win-win for all.
