  1. Thanks for everything Mike!
  2. I'm not sure I completely understand the question here.
  3. honest to god, this happens every year. have they seriously not got this figured out yet?
  4. I saw a live from the met thing - it was just fine. I've seen the dci stuff twice - they were both just "ok." of course, I'm not as big of a sound buff as some - I'm only bothered if the sound is fuzzy, electronic noise, or just really quiet. I don't need to be deaf (or have my ears ringing when I leave). But, some do, so I get that. I think I've just been happy to see drum corps, so maybe it didn't matter to me. but - you figure, if you're gonna pay 13.00ish for a ticket, you'd want it to be decent.
  5. I probably would have stayed (just b/c I paid for it) but - I would have still sent the email. sorry your experience was crummy. that stinks! (I'm kinda glad we didn't go!)
  6. I always took a performance multi vitamin on tour. but you know, working out the way I do now (with protein powder) I would have LOVED them for tour. not b/c of the muscle building, I just think they enhance your overall performance and mental focus.
  7. I don't recall any corps from VA (where I was from when I marched) or KS (where I live now) traveling is a requirement for some. I drove 9.5 hours to camps. (mom always used to ask why I didn't march bluecoats, as we'd pass the exit for Canton each time we went up.)
  8. it's hard to compare them (glassmen) to other shows IMO. the show isn't at all like the competition, which, IMO, is fine - but, I think they're getting a bad wrap b/c of it. I thought they looked great. There's still a long way to go, and there are some feet/drill cleaning issues. But I think they earned what they got last night. i also think the show has a bit of a slow start, but that's just a personal opinion of mine.
  9. speaking of rain..... Allentown 2004 anyone? (sorry to be OT, rainy shows remind me of the best one of my life!)
  10. I wasn't trying to kill your thread - it was a legit suggestion. (I find body movements hard to explain, but easy to understand when you see). if you'd really like your thread closed, please send a message requesting so - but, I think you might get some good response! :)
  11. find a friend (or if you have some) with some dci dvds and watch 'em - you'll get PLENTY of ideas that way
  12. In all seriousness, I'd hate to have to close a thread like this b/c it degrades into where it's going. Please stop, and move back to the topic at hand. </moderator> Personally - I say, do what you can to save the operation. maybe people will get out and let the city council know how they feel
  13. guys .... relax please. it's late, and I linked the wrong thread. (p.s. - fixed)
  14. see current thread here...... http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...howtopic=137630
  15. wow - you're a fantastic sponsor!!! you also might check with your parent's work - I know when I marched, my mom's company donated 300.00 or so to my tour fees. you gotta ask. the worst they can say is no!
  16. my dues were 1200. lol it's crazy how much it costs, but it's so so worth it!
  17. I'm confused by this.... tour wardrobe?? seriously? it's called your section shorts (maybe you got 2 pair, so say 60.00) and a pair of nice shoes. (sports bras for girls - which most of us already own). what new do you really need besides shoes? I spent money on shoes and section shorts and that was it.
  18. colts give out little metal triangles. I only know that b/c every kid who has marched at the high school hubby and I taught at marched colts.
  19. lol having marched one of the Fail-corps, I agree. But hey - it's ok. you just get up, do what you do, and keep going. ;)
  20. agreed. I was shocked to see the sketch and how much I liked it, after having seen that photo and really really not liking it at ALL.
  21. <moderator> so, this thread has been pretty lighthearted (yay) so I'd like to request that we all refrain from calling each other names etc. please feel free to consult our community guidelines or contact a community administrator if you have any questions. thanks! </moderator>
  22. I was going to say - it's pretty abstract. Looks like just a scratchy font letter A to me. I'm ok with the design, but the lack of delta bothers me.
