Also gotta factor in I think this was their first read on any sheets as well as it was a DCI judging panel and not a DCA one. They will be in shape for championships, they always are. 😁

Discord is great for communicating information fast and instantly as well as voice chat and very easy to use on mobile. I run the KY Marching Discord server that I started to spread from the KY discussion forums and I find it much easier to interact with your community.

I am participating, I'd like to just run Thoroughbreds in Class A
-
I'm down for it, especially if champs are where I live 😉

The Thoroughbreds organization has relocated to Bowling Green, KY and has made plans to return in season 29. Our organization is happy to make this announcement after much consideration and planning and is looking forward to competing once again! Hope to see everyone soon!

I will definitely use the Discord server. I will be trying to make a return to DCPI in the next season.

I'd definitely recommend the Bach 6.5 AL Megatone

Shout out to my people in Cincinnati for achieving the first ever Box 5 brass score in the corps' history!

I have been watching live DCA and DCI broadcasts from the beginning on my laptop with a wifi connection. No problems here. Will see finals tonight if that holds up.
Not saying you will always have problems over WiFi, just saying problems over WiFi can't be controlled by anyone.

The pit just all doubled up on instruments and played some wicked licks.
Ballad. I'm assuming it's "The Next Place". It sounds like the ballad from 2009 Blue Stars, but I'm not 100% sure.
I'd be surprised if it was our ballad from that year considering all our music minus the preshow and closer was original music that year lol

I don't know yet. We'll find out after Hurcs, I'm guessing, since we'll have another intermission.
I appreciate your play-by-play!

Brief note for anyone watching the live stream, myself being a former IT guy and internet repair guy at one point, if you are watching over WiFi you will be more susceptible to possible issues because WiFi connection cannot be guaranteed (any internet provider will tell you that). You will get your best and most guaranteed connections over a hard wired connection by ethernet cable 🙂

Are they announcing any scores while prelims is going on or are they waiting until the end?

who was the last corp to make finals with G bugles? and i know that Star of Indiana was the last corp to make finals with 2 valve bugles.
another interesting question. how many world class use large bore horns? You think most corps would considering Bugles were all large bore im pretty sure. I know most yamaha corps march .459 trumpets and compared to .468 bugles thats a big difference.
Depends on if you wanna talk DCI or include DCA in that. Last corps to win with G horns was Cincinnati Tradition in 2016. I believe Erie Thunderbirds still use G as well.

Most recent score for White Sabers is a 72 even from 6/30

To anyone watching online, I am not associated with Flo whatsoever, but I do have a background in IT and internet support and I can say, although no one likes to hear this answer at all, your connection to any streaming service will work better over a hard wired internet connection than a wireless one. Best thing I can suggest if you absolutely must use wifi is to check the internal settings of your wifi router and make sure the channel is not set to "auto" that's usually the biggest issue with wifi issues. If your channel is set to "auto" I suggest setting it to either 1, 6, or 11 hope that might help clear anything up for anyone having issues that aren't getting any help from Flo support. Wish I could be watching or at least in Rochester this year.

Guard staff tend to be the worst. For some staff, it seems like every single catch deserves excessive praise.
Of course, what that implies to the audience is that the guard usually drops.
It's not just drum corps staff either. I deal with it at high school shows too. As an instructor, but also as a spectator, I have had conversations with guard instructors to basically tell them to "shut their pie holes" and that's the nice way of me saying it. It's a real inconvenience when I'm in charge of recording videos of my students or other schools and a staff member is right beside me just ruining the experience not to mention my recordings.

it wasnt the full DCA panel, but the 5 man version DCA uses too. DCI still uses DCA sheets for DCA corps correct?
From what I've heard, but not sure of the validity of it, they use a hybrid score sheet of DCI and DCA. I have no clue what it looks like though. Half the time (in the past) we don't get a score at DCI shows we do anyway.

And 62.5 for Cincinnati Tradition. Are they fourteen points better than they were at this point last year? Or was either last year or this year a case of DCI scoring them incorrectly, as often happens with the numbers for all-age corps.
I can only say so much from marching tuba on the field, but this is my 5th year with Cincinnati Tradition and this is by far the best product this group has ever produced. We greatly appreciated the announcer acknowledging our success at DCA championships last year and appreciate the crowd showing their support for us. We always do our best to take steps in the right direction. Btw, we still have spots open and we are an all age corps if anyone is interested in joining. Our oldest performer is 67 and our youngest is 14, so we have a wide variety of ages and anyone is welcome. Feel free to contact me if you need more information. :-)
