  1. The Genesis website still lists both Michigan City contests as part of their itinerary for the season.
  2. The slotting has already begun - just a matter of time until the groups all get together and we can lock down the top 3. BD and ??
  3. The Battalion and Shadow are now among the corps listed on DCI.org. Links to the Shadow's website is available on the corps page. The Battalion website link incorrectly links to Shadow. They both still show up with blank schedules on the schedule page.
  4. Thanks for compiling this list. One correction - The Battalion is based in Salt Lake City, UT.
  5. They could be going the opposite route - march in white, conduct in black. Not like that hasn't been done before.
  6. If anyone is there tonight - how is the souvie stand situation? Last week I was at Kalamazoo and only Legends (home show) and Jubal had booths. N.E. Brigand reported only Jubal with a booth at Avon Lake. I'm planning to attend tomorrow night in person (sorry, won't be able to provide live updates) and want to know if I should come armed with a wad of cash to use in support of the various corps.
  7. Cinemark 14 in Mishawaka, Indiana. Just started a new job so I can't take the full day off and see all 39 corps live in one day.
  8. DCI hasn't posted the results for the Open Class show in Johnsonburg, PA either. Maybe too much bandwidth was sucked up by The Cadets new uniforms in Chester.
  9. In recent years, all OC corps not qualifying for finals have performed in exhibition on Tuesday. Any insight into whether this will be the case again this year? This post from dci.org about finals week day-by-day doesn't call it out, but indicates that in addition to the 12 finalists, all three international corps will go head-to-head. Will DCI allow the 13th and 14th place groups one more performance before the big LOS Thursday show? http://www.dci.org/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=965782&SPID=166025&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=210237896&DB_OEM_ID=33500
  10. Open Class corps are not members of DCI, but must be approved by DCI to participate. Something fishy about that combination of concepts.
  11. My reference to West Coast vs. Midwest was indeed based on tour location. Obviously, I should have used the words West Coast TOUR and Midwest TOUR (for the reading comprehension literalists).
  12. Sticking with the theme of not comparing scores from different shows - Bluecoats have finished ahead of Carolina Crown at EVERY show where both appeared (4/4), yet Crown is "ahead of" Bloo in the current "standings." The spread between BD and Crown on Thursday in Foxboro will be interesting to note, as it is our first opportunity to see a comparison between a top-tier West Coast group and one from the Midwest.
  13. Sticking with the theme of ignoring specific scores from different shows - Bluecoats have finished ahead of Carolina Crown at EVERY show where both appeared (4/4), yet Crown is "ahead of" Bloo in the current "standings." Spread between BD and Crown at Foxboro on Thursday will be interesting to see as it's our first chance to see a comparison between a top-tier group from the West Coast and one from the Midwest.
  14. To go back to the DCI.org scores list from one show, don't use the back button. Click on the link for "event list" at the top of the score page. DCP scores page and DrumScorps app scores page are both infinitely more user-friendly.
  15. If you look at their website it indicates: - one remaining audition - 31 days until everyday rehearsals - 48 days until tour - 49 days until first show Evidently, the Evansville show last night was an add-on. Kudos to the Corps and the MMs for stepping up and participating.
  16. In addition to removing the all-age corps from the drop-down schedule list, Jubal is not an option on the list. Previously, International corps were also listed in the by-corps schedule options.
  17. All of the above AND all of the Open Class programs AND our visiting International corps AND any all-age group that happens to be at a show I attend.
  18. Congratulations to all three groups. It's great to see the activity on the rise.
  19. Congratulations to Heat Wave. And to River City Rhythm and Southwind. It's great to see the activity growing.
  20. I don't know how it would be received in DCI, but at the High School Marching Band level there is a great example of a group that uses a dance team instead of a traditional guard. This would be Stephen F. Austin High School in Sugar Land, TX. The Bulldog Band and Angels Dance Team has been a finalist at BOA Grand Nationals and does very well in UIL competition. In 2006, SFA responded to "they don't use any flags" criticism by adding a flag with the word FLAG on it to their show. Reactions, as can be expected, were mixed.
  21. Thanks for the update. As of last week, DCI.org still listed the 6/22 show as being at Fairfield HS. It is unfortunate for the Fairfield band boosters that their long-time show is being held at the stadium of their biggest rival, but it's better than no show at all.
  22. Note - the Summer Music Games in Cincinnati show at Fairfield HS is still on the schedule (June 22). The new Hamilton show on July 25 is an Open Class show.
