  1. I started the Patreon video, but I stopped when I read that there were updates to the show. I’ll get my first live viewing in Denton in Thursday, I can’t wait! It’s a little saddening that DCI took over the Cavaliers’ Denton show, so I can’t volunteer or help out. Just forces me to also head over to mesquite this year as well!
  2. Sorry to hear it, and I’ll miss San Antonio this year as well. Just Denton and probably Mesquite for me this year. But some day we’ll catch up at a show. On the bright side you wait one less day to see the show!
  3. The whole thing was a ton of fun, we’ve been getting tons of content so far!
  4. That means both SCV and BD have a sousaphone in their show this year then.
  5. Good idea, but you were definitely right about Blue Stars not being ahead of Cadets. Now I think Cadets show has a lot less room to grow, but their individual execution is way higher.
  6. I don’t like the Beatles music and Bluecoats were worth the price of admission. (Something I wouldn’t have said last year, for perspective)
  7. Bluecoats gap Crown gap Boston Cadets Blue Stars gap Phantom
  8. Boston was good except for how much of a miss Everybody Wants to Rule the World is. Best so far.
  9. Cadets were better on an individual execution perspective. GE won’t be there at the end of the season, but they will execute.
  10. I was feeling the Cadets trumpets in the beginning until the garbled mess that was the double tonging
  11. Blue Stars show has way more GE than Phantom but there were a ton of individual mistakes and blow ups visually.
  12. Phantom will need a lot of work to get that show together.
  13. I didn’t get the best read on the live stream but I did like the flow a lot. I’m sure it’ll be much better outdoors and subsequently in person. But I think they could sound great. The guys singing/playing foundation was awesome.
  14. The uniforms are pretty good, but the reveal was ok. Lots of moving shots that were only ok. Plus no still images of the uniform.
  15. Move-ins are in full effect I believe. I’ve seen pictures of the guard at Visceral and the percussion at Adrian.
  16. From Dallas to Houston, plan to stop at the Madisonville Buc-ee’s. From Houston to San Antonio, plan to stop at the Luling Buc-ee’s. From San Antonio to Dallas, plan to stop at the Temple Buc-ee’s and at the Czech Stop in West (the original check stop on the east side of the highway). If you find yourself looking for time to kill in DFW, Grapevine is just north of the airport and a nice town to walk up and down the strip. The Rangers ballpark is just south of the airport next to the Cowboys stadium, Texas Live!, and the new indoor ballpark that they are building. The 6th floor museum is really interesting in downtown Dallas, but watch out for traffic. If you have questions about the craft beer scene or restaurants to go to, I can make a list for that as well.
  17. And congratulations to @PopcornEater1963 as I believe that is his son Davis!
  18. Well with the Bollywood theme, I meant like costuming, music, and dancing that is inherently Indian. For the little shop part I was thinking of an idea for a horror based show. They can have a big prop utilizing this year’s stage. And I certainly wouldn’t want lion king to be the Cavaliers show. Maybe like a African tribal show. or like a Spartan show. A theme where a boy becomes a man after being sent out to the wilderness to survive and kill a beast/lion to earn their birthright. Also this made me think that the Blue Stars could do a Greek God and Goddesses show.
  19. The Blue Devils doing an Indian/Bollywood show. Santa Clara doing Little Shop of Horrors, or the idea of a growing living thing that tricks people and takes their lives. The Cavaliers doing like a Safari/African show, where the animals are done like the Lion King Stage Musical.
  20. It’s nice to get a new perspective on two men who made a large impact on the corps while I was marching. Adolph did a lot for the corps and the cadet corps and his kids and grand kids have all had a positive impact. Scott did so much for transportation, you’d see him every camp getting the truck to Rosemont school working on the interior etc. Two great men that have left a lasting impact on the corps. Splooie brothers.
  21. Got the 80. Now to see how far the spread is to BD. This will recontextualize the season for all of us fans.
  22. I think the boys are missing about a full point from the MA judge. At least from the last show. But things will settle when all corps meet with the same judges.
