  1. I think Crown and the Cavaliers have higher ceilings than Bluecoats. Bluecoats came out far more solid but didn’t win by much. I feel all of the scores and gaps are very accurate for what we saw this evening.
  2. Lots of impressive things from the corps. Competitively? Who knows. But what I can say with confidence is that no one will be able to blame any section of the corps for not being up to par with any other corps subcaption. No way the broadcast on Thursday will do justice to the amount of things going on. Unless Tom Blair has been doing a ton of studying. I recommend high cam to the flo-watchers for a while this season.
  3. Since it is a leak I doubt it will get posted in here. Better use the back channels.
  4. The Cavaliers are 3 pointing Madison on a nightly basis. Before the sickness rolls through they are 2.1 ahead. Then when they start competing again they are neck and neck. Missing an entire weeks worth of practice in the next to last week of the season is detrimental.
  5. I think the top 6 will be in the upper 94 range and above. Any any placement in the top 6 will be an accomplishment. We will see some nice back and forths through the season before the shows will settle and placements will become more apparent. I wasn’t feeling BD’s music as much as I was last season at this time. I have no idea what to expect from SCV as I haven’t heard anything other than a percussion run through. And my tuba ears can’t tell anything about percussion. The run through I saw of crown seemed like a high school show. And the Bruckner wasn’t my favorite choice stylistically. But it’s way too early with no props or uniforms. Basically I don’t know who I would choose to win. I think based off trajectory we get: BD Crown SCV Cavaliers Bluecoats Boston Cadets BK Blue Stars Phantom Crossmen Mandarins I think it’ll be a good season, again.
  6. Yeah that is on schedule really. This is definitely the week to get closer drill in the members hands. Well the first iteration that every corps has before the new ending goes in around Atlanta.
  7. Never made sense to me either. I just hit my dots lol.
  8. I always thought we pinned up the correct side of the hat.
  9. The Cavaliers were wearing hats in rehearsal, they appear to be the same as last season.
  10. Basically I'm saying don't wear hats in the ballad, there you can do your emotional connection then put the hats right back on.
  11. Very true, but this corps hasn't been in contention for the top half of finals in a while, 5 years.
  12. The corps seem obligated to go without headgear for some reason. I think it would be best if headgear was used in the show and when they come off it means something. The part where we connect to the performer, but really they look better with headgear on.
  13. It is much better than y'all are giving it credit. I did only see a low angle video, but I think the show has potential to keep them competitive with Blue Stars and Blue Knights.
  14. The Tweet, well retweet in discussion. Love how much this front ensemble plays. Edit: Also looks like this part was rewritten recently. This may be day of changes, so dirt is expected, but still impressive.
  15. He’s also worked with many other groups putting out great designs. Also doesn’t Hinshaw write the drill there?
  16. I think credit can certainly be given to Chris for bringing in all of the right people. Tommy I’m sure has done some great things on the design side. But I think the biggest changes came from Daniel Wiles being on staff, he brought in the design element that has really made the corps successful. And Dave McGrath (include Dave on the design changes), Mike Martin, Freddy Martin, and now Kevin LeBoeuf have brought the brass ensemble out of the middle of the pack and put some impressive stuff in front of the students to accomplish.
  17. You couldn’t be more out of touch.
  18. It’s a really good piece for sure. I’m fairly certain that this intended to be a warm up, but it could be a lasting fixture in warm up for years to come. I feel there is a little more after the crescendo we didn’t get to hear yet that should be a lot of fun.
  19. Well I expect to see many BK fans at the brewery finals week!
  20. Sun King is my go to before heading to the stadium.
  21. Look away @Hook'emCavies because it's a video of the boys playing.
  22. https://m.imgur.com/tvAVNZF Looks like the hornline where in white helmets and it looks a lot better.
  23. I’m sure it’ll sound 100 times better than that recording...
  24. May be on instagram, but there’s not much to see other than up close work for a couple seconds. edit: there is definitely a more lengthy video of the guard and ensemble from field level. The audio is dubbed over but looks really cool. It is on the corps’ Facebook page.
