  1. Unless you have access to some secret FloMarching high res version…you have the issue too…you just don’t notice it. It has nothing to do with your Internet speed…it is how Flo compresses the video.
  2. Thanks, On the 50. So basically, what we need Flo to do is less compression. Do you know what prevents them from streaming a less compressed video? Is it likely just limitations in their hardware?
  3. Yes, it makes sense that it is compression. I guess my question then is...what causes it to pules every 2 or so seconds, rather than every frame being equally compressed? It can be very distracting.
  4. The same thing happens with the multi-cam, it's just not as noticeable during scenes when the camera is moving around or zoomed on a smaller section of field. If you pay attention a plain green grass portion of the screen, you can still see the pulsing. When they show the high cam view during the multi-cam broadcast....the same pulsing occurs as well.
  5. Selecting 1080p instead of auto makes no difference...the same "pulsing" occurs either way. It isn't an issue or glitch with the app used, I believe it is a transmission/compression issue.
  6. If you know where a corps is housing/rehearsing during Allentown weekend, please post that information here. I’d love to drive around and watch some ensemble rehearsals before heading to the venue in the evening. Thanks!
  7. Hi all. Generally speaking, this has been FloMarching’s best year thus far with regard to video and audio quality and consistency. That being said, there is still one defect that needs to be fixed/improved. it seems like every 2 seconds of so, there is a pulse where the background gets fuzzy for a brief moment, then flickers back to being fine. It is sort of like a compression artifact that pulses every 2-3 seconds. It is really noticeable it you look at the backfield stands when the camera is still. This effect is present in every show, and on every device I’ve watched it on. My Internet speeds are gigabyte on my wired devices and over 500 Mbps on my wireless devices, so I don’t think it is an Internet speed issue. For general watching, it’s not too bothersome. However, since DCI is no longer producing Blu-rays, screen captures of these FloMarching shows are the best we’ll have to watch back for years to come and I want the quality to be as good as possible. I see the same effect on every Flo video that ends up on YouTube, so I’m sure it’s not just me. Does anyone know what may be causing it and what we can suggest Flo do to correct it?
  8. So, how loud should we listen to drum corps on our home or car audio system to make it sound as close as possible to a live performance? In decibels….how loud is a drum corps when in front of the arc, or from the first row in the stands?
  9. Yes, I’ve been collecting these too. I only need 1981, 1984, 1991, 1994, and 1996. Please post if you can. Thanks!
  10. Has anyone received their order yet? I was hoping to have received them before Christmas. 😢😢
  11. So there is an actual DCA Champ in a season that featured only “virtual” competitions and lacked the only decent drum corps of the bunch? Ok….call them “Champs” with a HUGE ASTERISK! 2021 DCA Champions* * Note that no corps competed in an actual competition and that the most competitive corps was one of the smart corps that didn’t subject their members/staff to the threat of COVID-19. Flame away….but the truth is the truth.
  12. When I spoke to DCI Headquarters, they said they were still awaiting the rights for Jersey Surf.
  13. We usually are able to pre-order in early November and can expect CDs shortly thereafter. I understand that the video products may take a while, but any idea why we've heard nothing on the audio release date?
  14. Those aren’t MY numbers. Those were the numbers given by the judges. I was just making an observation. I bet that if you told those marching members when they broke 87 on July 24th, that they’d be carrying an 87 into finals week.....they’d be pretty bummed.
  15. Scores and gains from July 24th, 2019: 4.100 - Bluecoats 3.600 - Blue Devils 3.900 - Santa Clara Vanguard 5.350 - Carolina Crown 4.225 - Cavaliers 2.850 - Boston Crusaders 4.000 - Blue Knights 5.350 - Cadets 0.625 - Blue Stars 3.150 - Mandarins 4.050 - Phantom Regiment 6.000 - Spirit of Atlanta 3.250 - Crossmen 5.800 - Colts 4.800 - Academy 7.350 - Pacific Crest 6.500 - Madison Scouts Just an observations, but I really find it hard to believe that the Blue Stars haven't even improved 1 point in two weeks of rehearsals and shows when literally everyone else has improved about 3 points or more over that same span.
  16. Blue Stars appear to be stuck in the 87s. They first broke 87 on July 24th...12 days ago.
  17. Sounds like a woodpecker is perched on a FloMarching microphone stand. LOL
  18. Okay....perhaps you should encourage OC to fix their website then since you know better than them when they officially became World Class. LOL
  19. They weren't officially World Class that year....but they were allowed to perform with World Class. From Oregon Crusaders website: "In 2013 the corps was awarded the ability to perform with the elite DCI World Class before it officially became World Class in 2014."
  20. Oregon Crusader placed similarly.....got 19th in their World Class debut (2014).
  21. I'm actually in the process of listening to every BAC show I have access to right now to confirm. I'll report my findings when I'm finished. Regardless, in a year in which they are actually hyping ••|•|••• in social media and such....you'd think they'd play what is represented.
  22. It drives me crazy that BAC finishes the Conquest hit with an extra downbeat. It seems unnecessary. Why do they do it? UGH!!!
  23. I was wondering if the Mandarin’s hornline was going to march and play at the same time. Finally, they did towards the end. Now I see why they were scoring well....it’s not hard to just stand there and play your part. I’m not thinking this show will hang tough until the end.
