  1. The lowest score ever at US Open would probably be the Marion Cadet Jets in 1976 scoring a 7.05 in Class A prelims. They of course did not ever make DCI top 12, but that would be my guess for lowest score ever at US Open.
  2. Hi, sorry, my info did not come from corpsreps, or any other website, it came right from the World Open albums/programs and drum corps publications. You can find the info about World Open Everett 75 on the back cover of the 1975 World Open LP's/Vinyl written by H. Worth Ake where he writes, quote, "An over 10,000 audience filled Everett Mass. Memorial Stadium to watch 7 DCI and 5 other outstanding corps compete under ideal condition for the first of the National titles this season" If you do not have these albums the info on the back of the LP was taken from his Drum Corps News article of the same from the 8/20/1975 DCN Vol XV No. 13. The World Open program itself(74 and 75)thanks the fans for their, quote,"wonderful cooperation in our time of need and for your unfailing understanding and good-natured acceptance of the inconvenience caused to you by our emergency move from our home of many years in Manning Bowl, Lynn. We apologize for this inconvenience and regret that it was necessary." Not sure how/why you would take info from one website(pressbox)as right but not another(corpsreps)as I have found both have about the very same amount of inaccuracies as the other, I myself will take the info from the actual World Open records/programs and Drum Corps News that I quoted from as correct over either site you mentioned.
  3. The first World Open in 1963 was held in Jersey City, NJ. In 64 and 65 they were held in Bridgeport, CT. In 1966 World Open moved to Lynn, where both Prelims and Finals were held every year until 1974, 1974 Prelims were in Lynn but Finals were in Lowell. The 1975 World Open Prelims were also in Lynn, Finals were in Everett. In 1976 both Prelims and Finals were again held in Lynn and stayed that way right through the last one in 1982.
  4. Northern Thunder, thanks again for the scores, do you have any other info on that Milwaukee contest, seems like it is sandwiched in between the Green Bay and Cedarburg contests, do you have a date for it, sponsor and/or lineups? Also, do you have a date for that Waterloo contest, it too seems sandwiched between the Port Washington and Horicon dates? I think anyone who ever marched/attended the Horicon Marsh Days contests remembers one thing, and it is a big thing, killer piranha-vampire like mosquitoes! Still a great time and memories that last forever, same with Port Washington Fish Day, the worlds largest one day fish fry, and massive party by the lake. Speaking of Horicon, would you happen to have the scores for the 1971 Horicon contest, if I remember correctly it ended similiar to 1970, Madison winning and Kilties second. Also, the Port Washington contest, do you happen to have scores for any of the following years, 71, 72, 73 and also 76, pretty sure Marquis won in 76. Thanks again Northern Thunder and sorry for hi-jacking the thread!
  5. Northern Thunder, from the above listed contests, would you happen to have the scores/results for any/all of the following, the Milwaukee contest that is listed between Green Bay and Cedarburg, Des Plaines, Port Washington, Waterloo, Horicon and/or Middleton. Horicon Marsh Days bring back great memories as does the Port Washington Fish Day/Festival. Thank you in advance!
  6. Thanks for the scores Northern Thunder! I had the placements for the Golden show but no scores, same with Lake Mills, WI. Speaking of Wisconsin, do you happen to have the scores for the Edgerton, Mauston and/or Horicon contests, all the very next day after Lake Mills, July 30th 1972(40 years ago today) Phantom beat St Pats at Lake Mills on the 29th, but I think St Pats won at Horicon, been a long time, maybe I am wrong on that.
  7. Anyone have any of the following scores from just a few of the 20+ contests that happened 40 years ago today, 7/29/1972 Golden, Co. 7/29/1972 Scarborough, Canada 7/29/1972 Seattle, WA 7/29/1972 Lake Mills, WI 7/29/1972 Old Bridge, NJ 7/29/1972 Hicksville, Ogdensburg, Niagara Falls and/or Long Island, NY 7/29/1972 Jewett City, Conn.

  9. Hi, actually none of the information I am looking for can be found there. I have that book, it only lists the major/national contests. I am talking about the every day contests the corps was in (many times 20 to 30 contests per year besides National contests) The everyday contests are just as important to our histories as the Nationals, lots of battles fought, its all those contests that prepare you for the Nationals. Contests in Bridgeport, Lodi, Fair Lawn, Woodbridge, Bayonne, Parsippany, Newark, Wilmington, Wildwood, Hempstead, Elizabeth and on and on.....if no records were kept, that is lost drum corps history! Such a shame they did not mantain their contest dates and placements. (Sadly, many corps back in the day did not bother to or feel the need to keep contest info) Being a competitive drum corps, the contests themselfs (and the results of) are our histories (IMO) just as much, if not more than the photos and audio. Disclaimer, I do not in any way mean this as an attack against you or this project. As I mentioned before, 5 out of the 10 years during the decade of the Seventies corpsreps has 10 or fewer contest dates listed for the Garfield Cadets, was really hoping a new site about nothing but Cadets would have these missing dates, and thought I was somehow overlooking them. Most probably do not care about all the contests that took place along the way to the Nationals each year but I absolutely love checking out a corps contest history (any corps) day by day, week by week, month by month, so much happens over the course of a contest season, brings back lots of memories!
  10. Have not had time to go through this very thoroughly yet, but, looking at the index or table of contents, where is the contest history or what section would I find it under? I see a list of directors and officers through the years, repertoires through the years, but no contest dates/schedules/scores through the years? Corps contest histories are one of my favorite parts of a corps history to look at so if you could guide me to those I would be most appreiciative! (especially/particularly the 70's where corpsreps has 5 of those years (half the decade) with 10 or less dates listed) Thank you!
