  2. My refresh button hasn't seen this kind of abuse in ages. On the edge of my seat!
  3. ALRIGHT! Don't like the results? Go to hell! (complete joke just so we're all clear)
  4. Field seemed a little too flat tonight. Could have really used some giant props or something to give it some dimension.
  5. Nope I heard it as well. I actually quite liked it, for that piece it's almost obligatory. Seemed nicely done.
  6. Don't think I've loved a closer as much before in a really long time... Seriously impressed.
  7. Crown is my favorite of the year, close tie b/w Cadets and BD for 2nd. Just love this show.
  8. Agree with DrumManTx, hard to tell from periscope but regiment is looking good!
  9. This show is a lot more interesting than the shows PR has put out since Shaw left, imo. REALLY excited for this show to develop. Writing seems to have new life
  10. Just heard ave maria, and I think it's the best it's sounded in years. Great job PR! And thanks to Gabe211 for the periscope tip
  11. Hard to tell from the short snapchat clips, but I like what I'm hearing so far...
  12. I was at the show last night and had a great time! Had two drum corps noobies with me and they really enjoyed the show as well. Here are a few of my thoughts of each group in ascending order of score: Phantom Regiment: The improvements to the show are definitely helping. The kids are playing well, but I just don't feel the demand is there. Thompson's drill seemed a bit flat to me as well, something I haven't said in a long time. The Cavaliers: Great performance and excellent brass this year! Much improved show design over last year. I was especially impressed with their dark tone and low brass. Bluecoats: This one absolutely blew me away. I was net expecting it to be my favorite show of the night. The energy in the playing was incredible! Definitely the crowd favorite by far (based on those around me). It had people out of their seats well before the show ended. That said, the drill does need to be cleaned up, which I'm confident they will do before August. Excellent use of props. Santa Clara: Great performance and powerful brass section. Really enjoyed the writing (thanks JD). Color guard was very fun to watch. To quote the scholar next to me "I like them cuz they weren't loud, and then they were." Indeed sir. Indeed. Carolina Crown: What's not to love? Brass incredible, drums are MUCH improved over last season, great guard. I did notice a bit of a timing issue in the first quarter of the show? Could have just been where I was sitting. One thing I noticed was that they didn't seem as... loud as last year. Brass is excellent and controlled, just not as in your face. Cadets: Toward the end, the narration was starting to annoy me, but I've never been that big of a fan of it to begin with. That aside, they sounded great and the crowd loved them. I really enjoy their drill (as I do most years). Blue Devils: Well done! I feel this show is much more fan friendly than the last 2-3 years. Wonderful music selections and excecution. Appropriate use of props and outstanding marching technique, as usual. Love the new uniforms and the occasional hint of red. Overall I feel it's a great year for drum corps! Congratulations to the performers.
  13. I just really want to see a video where they aren't distracted by rain. Also I want to see these new uniforms in action! Staying optimistic.
  14. I really like the teal. And REALLY like the music I've heard so far!
  15. Just makes me smile. This is always the best time of the year! Sounds great!
  16. I don't need to see anything more than I already have to determine this show is not going to be my FAVORITE Cadets show. Based on the arrangements and theme, it will not be my FAVORITE. This does not mean I don't like it or that I don't think it will be great by August.
  17. They sound great. This show, however, is not my favorite.
  18. If you in anyway appreciated the drum corps activity as a whole, this would be a great gift to you as well. It would be equally as great a gift had Bluecoats won the DCI title. Publicity never hurts. This is something we should all be happy about! Merry Christmas and Blessings to you and your family.
  19. Carolina Crown performing on live TV on Christmas morning is just about the best gift I could have asked for.
  20. Not really like them to announce a show like this. Kind of hoping this isn't the actual theme. I really wanted something less safe.
