  1. Received apologetic email which included offer for $20 rebate.
  2. I'm still able to access the entire Finals webcast, so, in a way, I have VOD of finals. Earlier on Finals night someone had said the Finals Live feed would shut down at midnight, but it's still there for me. Anybody else? Still haven't received a response to my email complaints about the live stream quality.Maybe DCI is trying to make up for all the glitches by keeping the Finals Live stream available to those who paid for it?
  3. I sent numerous copies of my complaints and requests for a refund to every department available on the Finals Support page as well as to Fan Network support. My complaint also included a second refund request for the Buffalo live stream debacle. All I've heard in the way of response is crickets. It could be I haven't heard back because of the number of complaints they've undoubtedly received. But that's giving them the benefit of the doubt as my Buffalo complaint was sent on the night of that show, a show that will live in webcast infamy. I will complain with my wallet next year, or lack thereof...
  4. Got everything connected and the picture looks great! Sound is good, too! Now if the feed would cooperate... Thanks for all advice!
  5. Yes! I really want a Chromecast, but they're hard to find in stock and I just didn't think ahead. I did find an adapter (mini-port to HDMI). Sure hope this works! Thanks!!
  6. Thank you so much! I'll try to find what you recommend!
  7. Thanks for creating this thread. And do you mind if I crash and ask about my situation? I have a MacBook Air. Exactly what kind of HDMI Adapter do I need to connect to my Smart TV? Be as specific as you can because a techie I am NOT. I also have a very old (white) MacBook which I used for prelims and semis-- using some adapter thing (which cannot be used with my newer MacBook Air). Great audio, but the video was not HD quality (not sharp). There has to be a way to get great video AND audio with either or both of my Mac laptops. Help, please? 3rd question--Why is it that, at least with semis, the only option I had on the FN was to connect to HQ/MOBILE multi-cam or hi. What's up with the MOBILE choice only?
  8. THANK YOU! I was very close to suggesting we send out a "calling all OTHER corps fans" message (to fans of Cadets, SCV, Bluecoats, Phantom, Cavies, Scouts, BAC and anyone else who would want in)—to let Crown and Blue Devils fans just keep duking it out here while the rest of us sneak our corps past them to take the top spots. They'd never know what hit them and the timing couldn't be better. They wouldn't see us coming because they're not looking at us. They're not even thinking about anybody else. And you know our corps have the chops to do this. They don't call us all World Class for nothing. That'll show them that there are more than two corps in this thing. They are so lost in their respective testosterone-like fogs that by the time they catch on the rest of us will have aged out and left them in the dust—still going all Hatfields and McCoys on each other for eternity. You know, there might be a show design in that somewhere. Hmmm....
  9. I did not know that. Thanks. Knowledge is power. Although the BD version is not my cup of tea--SO much happening on the field for my feeble brain to take in--I was struck by a comment a friend made after--that the actual Rite of Spring work was not an audience favorite when it premiered 100 years ago--many were incensed and walked out of the theater. So I did a bit of research from which I have gleaned that Stravinsky would perhaps love the Blue Devils' take. Here is a bit of what I've found on the reception it received from audiences and critics- as well as an explanation of its origin-- One source reads: Though it is one of Stravinsky's most famous works, his creation was first met with harsh criticism, negative reviews, and yes - a riot. From wiki: In his 1936 autobiography (Stravinsky) described the origin of the work thus: "One day [in 1910], when I was finishing the last pages of L'Oiseau de Feu in St Petersburg, I had a fleeting vision ... I saw in my imagination a solemn pagan rite: sage elders seated in a circle, watching a young girl dance herself to death. They were sacrificing her to propitiate the god of Spring." Among the more hostile press reviews was that of critic Henri Quittard who called the work "a laborious and puerile(silly) barbarity" and added "We are sorry to see an artist such as M. Stravinsky involve himself in this disconcerting adventure". The composer Puccini…described the choreography as ridiculous and the music cacophonous—"the work of a madman. The public hissed, laughed – and applauded." The New York Times highlighted the bad reception of "The consecration of spring" by Igor Stravinsky as performed by the Russian Ballet in Paris here: http://en.wikipedia...._1913-06-07.png The passage of time has done little to soften eerily similar criticism the 2013 show is drawing, huh? I now have a greater appreciation of this surprisingly controversial show and will try to enjoy it more. It's just so exhausting. Having said that I don't believe these talented young people who are doing a spectacular job performing what the Blue Devils staff has envisioned for them deserve the jeers and derisive talk I'm hearing and seeing. Booing is never good. On the other hand, I'm all for BLOOING.
  10. I noticed the same thing--the all-white and mostly blonde female guard members, or at least a noticeable majority. I'm white (which doesn't really matter) but I thought it was glaring. Glad I'm not the only one... That being said, they all did a fantastic job!
  11. San Antonio, TX! Go Bloo! Go Bones! Good luck to all!!
