  1. I second that ! RUMP ! ! ! (I knew Kay was up to SOMETHIN' - Pretending to not know what's comin' up this weekend and all. Sneeeeeea-ky! )
  2. Word on the street's that something exciting is gonna be goin' on near the beach in West Haven - I might go check that out, in case my sources are right Seriously, though ? Youse want good seats there, ya better get in touch with the folks runnin' things NOW ! "Other sources" told me LAST FRIDAY they were almost out of the "premium" seats already !
  3. Yeah, weird, ain't it? For once, I agree with him, too !
  4. The one consideration I don't think I've seen in this thread yet is the most important one of all - The kids ! Look, from everything I hear, Surf provides their kids with an excellent experience every summer. If they can keep doing most things the way they do them now, AND get some WC cash, that allows them to make things even BETTER for their members! So it seems to make sense financially, the kids get at least as much out of participating as always, and the organization's strong enough (No, I don't have proof - While I don't actually KNOW him, I've met Bob a few times, and I trust that he would only be doing this for the right reasons) - So, um, GO SURF ! Have fun playing in the big-boy sandbox next year
  5. Oh, no - No chat with Mike for us this week ? ! I guess we'll just have to pester Al instead Everything's OK, though, right Mike : ?
  6. Yeah, um, unfortunately, the unis you described above have been sold off and replaced by something a bit more conventional - Pretty, to be sure, and very effective, but I was one of the weirdos who liked the "Ninja" ones. They were meant to be sorta Picasso-ish and Dali-esque from what I was told, going along with the "Sketches of Spain" theme of the show. And, yeah, "Ninjas on acid" is pretty apt. I think someone has an album out on the web somewhere from the 6/21 Wildwood show, if someone wants to see for themselves. . . . .
  7. While Bridgeport PAL didn't perform at the Bridgeport show, they did send an honor guard out for the national anthem, and they had a recruiting table set up, so I guess they're still pluggin away ! And I THINK I saw a picture of them form the next day's parade in the local paper (Or was that last year?).
  8. Yup, this sure looks to be a fun one - Got our tickets, & directions from the fried clam shrine Woodman's ! Hopin' for a great show from all (But, well, there's no hiding who I'm rooting for - GO CABS ! )
  9. Ok, then - How 'bout the Colonnades, from Fairfield, CT ? As far as my vote, I had to go with Arbella (Though they kicked my mixed corps' butt as bad as the Ventures did!).
  10. Relax, George knows I kid. Actually, Bridgemen were the audio highlight of my time spent in the bowels of the stadium Saturday night - Man, I was jumpin' all up n' down to "William Tell" .
  11. Yeah, but that picture was, obviously, considering "Mr. Lavelle's Banana Band" is on the field, taken pretty early in the evening. By the time I sat down hours later, the stands looked pretty much packed out to the 5's or so. Even so, for all of you who enjoyed yourselves more than you even expected you would, I have a very simple request - Bring some friends next year !
  12. Got my tickets last week Really looking forward to seeing Citations. Always liked ,em, and been hearing great stuff 'bout 'em this year - Oh, and, btw - GO CABS !
  13. Who paid $25 ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! Far's I know, the best seats in the house were only $18.00 ! ! ! ! (And, yes, some people even griped about THAT price! )
  14. See you all there - Especially those of you who don't have tix yet, 'cause you'll probably be buying them from me Have a safe trip ta Joisey all !
  15. I'm too lazy to read the rest of the thread, but, in the 80's, THE worst showers were at Torrington, CT ! The men's room next to them had a big long trough instead of individual urinals, and it was always getting clogged up, and out in the bathroom AND in the showers there was always like three inches of "liquid" on the floor. I'm getting queasy just remembering it.
  16. Don't forget "LA is My Lady", and how 'bout "Georgetown" ? ! ('85 & '86 ? ? ? )
  17. Gee, seems like a no-brainer for me - Big crowd, close to home, no pressure. And, since in my little world it's all about me, a chance for ME to see them (Don't get me wrong - I've attended quite a few 2 & 3/now "Open Class" shows - It's just that not many other people do)
  18. Comin' down to Clifton, Ace ? Wouldn't it be nice to actually enjoy a show instead of having to TALK all through it? Huh? Huh? Whaddayasay ? Oh, btw - ABOUT 78 HOURS TIL SHOWTIME ! ! !
  19. I didn't see an answer to this, so - YES, I believe it IS. I think the spanish title is "El Cumbanchero" or something like that. Gawd - I guess that means I go that far back, too
  20. Go Cabs ! I hope you all had an absolute BLAST last night - I loved playing in that stadium back in my day ! See yas all in Clifton
  21. Oops - My bad - Guess he was calling you out, concerning the bio in YOUR signature. Sorry - Just spacing out at work, passing time until my vacation starts in about3 hours
