The Sunrisers will continue their "Drive for 55" horns at rehearsal this coming Saturday, Jan. 19 to be held at the Brentwood High School's Sonderling Building, 2 Sixth Avenue. Rehearsal time will be 10:00am until 6pm. The corps will continue to learn music for their 2013 Show " A Western Fantasy". Additional horns have been ordered but due to the overwhelming turnouts, all members are asked to continue to bring their instruments (if you own your own). The Sunrisers are proud to announce their 2013 program, "A Western Fantasy." Through the music of Aaron Copeland and Nobuo Uematsu, daring men and women will harness their fantasies of a new life, brave the unknown, and risk everything they know for the hopes of a fresh start in the western world. What adversaries would they face? What would they find? How would they do thing differently and rebuild their society? Their hopes and dreams will foster a broader knowledge and spark a new enthusiasm for the expedition, its courageous members and its accomplishments in a WESTERN FANTASY for a new beginning. The Sunrisers are adding an informational parent meeting to Saturday's rehearsal schedule at their next rehearsal this coming Saturday, Dec. 1 to be held at the Brentwood High School's Sonderling Building, 2 Sixth Avenue. Rehearsal time will be 12:00pm until 6pm. All members are asked to bring their instruments (if you own your own). The parent's meeting will be held at 12:15 pm. 2013 is off to a great start for the Sunrisers! They completed one of their best open houses last Saturday with great turnout for all sections. The rehearsal site was humming with big sounds coming from all corners of the building. The corps rehearsed and got to know their staff and each other during the day and show and tell was exciting as each section performed what they had learned for each other. Despite the great turnout, there are still openings in all sections as the Sunrisers look to field their largest corps in years. Director David Abrams was enthused and encouraged by the huge turnout for the corps' first rehearsal of the year. "If this is a sign of things to come, people can expect a lot from the Sunrisers Corps this year. I'm looking forward to many more days like this in the future."
