Which is ridiculous because there were lines down there that were short. They clearly had no idea what they were doing!

Walked up at about 5:45 and was in my seat in 440 at 6:05. Wanted to see the Marines. Walked right past the ridiculous lines toward the corps truck lot where there were short lines. Not sure why all had grouped up at the other end? Just have to not mindlessly get in line- go check it out for yourselves first!

I mean he quite literally was the organizations leadership. He wasn’t going to fire himself. And there wasn’t a functional board. NOW there is a new director and a functional board (and they are still adding to that board) and this is the very quick result. I see this as a very positive move for the corps.

Point of reference- he hasn’t been the executive director since last August. Was a sitting BOD member. Now is not that either. (His wife, who used to be on the board, was not currently)

They now have a new director and a new board and they seem to be on top of things. Very clear response to the posts last night and then this tonight. Good signs from the new administration.

Omg they are literally playing the main motif of Ride of the Valkyries throughout the show. Couldn’t be much clearer. Lol.

Evidently Mandarins are not having a cymbal line either. (Posted on FB) So that just leaves SCV in top 12, and a few more in world class.

Agreed. I wish it were the case that judges judged the show in front of them, but that never happens. It’s all about last year’s placement for a while. Hopefully it won’t take them too long to figure out. It was certainly pretty obvious to me.

Yep and therein lies a big problem for all involved. I’m continually amazed that this story has remained under wraps- sort of. One of those worst kept secrets type of thing.

Best guard? Hmmm. I just watched that (live) and thought it was the dirtiest I have ever seen their guard this late. And the dance was particularly awkward. Not a good show for them I thought. To each their own I guess.

I haven't made any other remarks in this thread 😊 And I think you meant Crossmen topped Boston in the most recent scores. 😜 I didn't look at any other recaps before that so I'll take your word for it.

I'm confused as to what you are talking about. Crossmen took GE tonight 30. to 28.6. Last night was 27.9 to 27.1. Trend seems to be going the opposite of what you're saying? (I had just looked at the recap before reading your comment so I went back to look to see if I'd read it wrong, then looked at last nights too)

I think someone just copy and pasted from last year (which was MN and Denver) instead of replacing Denver with KY. And yes I know this is correct. 😊

It's based on MN and KY shows not Denver. The 2 shows that are the Sat before SA.

No, it's based on the previous weeks scores (this year that will be mostly Minneapolis and KY shows- if there is a corps at neither one of those shows then they take a score from a different show) Then ATL is based on SA, Atown on ATL and finally prelims on ATown. If a corps isn't in a particular show, they take the closest show score. (Example- Surf used to not do SA, so they took a different show for them to be seeded in ATL and last year a corps skipped ATL (illness) so they were given a different shows score to seed for ATown.). Not exactly completely fair of course, but as close as they can get. And yes then they group scores by 3's and draw for show order.

Well their over 1 point penalty would be why. Without that penalty (overtime- had electronic issues setting up) they were 11th on Friday.
