So it's only Bb3-F4 that it's the same?

I bought three years ago, my very own marching euphonium, or so I thought. I played on it and it didn't sound right, turns out it was in G (and turns out it was made in 2000) something peculiar I found was that whenever I went above Bb3 the horn played like a Bb horn, but could also play in G. Does anyone know why? Dynasty G Euphonium Manufactured and sold in 2000
