  1. Hmm. This may be too tough for the usual DCPers? Know one has answered the second paragraph. Not even the Boo.
  2. The recent “reconfiguration” of the DCI BoD presents only the male perspective. Yet according to DCI’s own census, 33 to 45 per cent of the competitors in any given season are female. The posturing, jousting and testosterone tempests which led to the recent “elections” suggest that the female perspective is sorely missing and under represented. Perhaps a woman might be named to that tie-breaking ninth director’s seat. Perhaps this token will be considered fair justice. But this all begs the question, who is the most influential woman in DCI today? In years past, one might have considered Mary Pesceone from administration, Shirlee Whitcomb from the judging community, and/or Peggy Twiggs and Sandra Opie from the instructional community. Who might be that most influential woman today? Would it be judges Marie Grana Czapinski or Dr. Nola Jones? Shirlee Dohertie, S. Rennick, TJ Doucette, Rosie Miller Queen, or April Gilligan Martinez from the instructional community? Maureen “Moe” Smith (long time power-behind-the-throne at Carolina Crown?) the very, very nice ladies who run the DCI ticket offices and put up with our guff and peculiarities each season? or maybe Jan Warren, wife of Don, for she allowed him to continue his Cavalier life and help found DCI? Of course, Granny Smith, TerriTroop, and LindaLap are DCP’s obvious candidates. But who else?? Who is now the most influential woman in the DCI activity? Why do you think she is influential?
