  1. An undefeated season for the Devils. They were close to getting a 99
  2. I truly believe that the Devils are about to 3 peat.
  3. I want to say it's from a military speech. I will have to find the video.
  4. Amazing show by BD, but I am not feeling the ballad as of right now. I know it's early, and there will be significant changes, but the ballad will have to grow on me.
  5. If anyone has any [information] that they are willing to share, my eyes and ears are open.
  6. In his last years, in defiance of his deteriorating physical condition, Henri Matisse developed a thrilling new method of making art that allowed him to work with brilliant colours even when he was bed-bound. With scissors as his chief implement, Matisse introduced a radically new operation that came to be called a cut-out. Matisse would cut painted sheets into forms of varying shapes and sizes which he then arranged into lively compositions, striking for their play with color and contrast, their exploitation of decorative strategies, and their economy of means. Matisse called his process “painting with scissors” and he developed the act of “carving into color” with innovative expertise. In a whirlwind of inspiration and event, the 2023 Blue Devils imagine the world of Matisse’s final chapter with THE CUT-OUTS. A musical and visual collage that celebrates environmental installation with shape, sound and texture.THE CUT-OUTS mines the tensions that lurk in all the shapes, between finish and process, fine art and decoration, drawing and color. An eclectic soundtrack bridges the past to the present and reflects the circumstance to the vision. The 2023 Blue Devils bring THE CUT-OUTS to Drum Corps International’s summer celebration with 165 extraordinary performers. With performances across the United States, THE CUT-OUTS honors the miracle of Matisse with music, motion, excellence, and innovation. Music includes: • THE RISE — Dave Glyde • CAVES — Cody Fry • JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE — Tominaga, Fujibayashi, Tanaka • STARDUST CRUSADERS “JOTARO’S THEME" — Yugo Kanno • RESISTENCE — Dave Glyde • BOTH SIDES NOW — Joni Mitchell • OF ENERGY— TesseracT • INCIDENT IN JAZZ — Bob Graettinger • GRAND CANYON FANFARE — James Newton Howard Read the full announcement: https://bluedevils.org/programs/a-corps/seasons/ #bdworld #dci2023

  14. Show announcement is here https://bluedevils.org/programs/a-corps/seasons/ “Blue has no dimensions, it is beyond dimensions.” – Yves Klein It may seem surprising, but the color blue is a relatively modern invention. The only ancient culture that had a word for it was the Ancient Egyptians, and yet the color BLUE has flourished in a multitude of incarnations reaching far beyond the discovery of Lapis Lazuli. Dancing on the historical timeline of this mysterious and dynamic color, the 2022 Blue Devils celebrate their 65th Anniversary with TEMPUS BLUE. Lapis lazuli, the Renaissance, Titian, Novalis’s Blue Flower, Picasso, and Yves Klein emerge from the timeline in a collage of music and motion. A universal perspective provides a musical palette of influence and style. A contemporary, modern approach allows TEMPUS BLUE to reflect this emotional, miraculous hue with innovation and vision. Starting with the rise of civilization around 4500 B.C. and continuing to this day, people have found creative ways to produce colors for artistic expression. This summer 165 extraordinary performers travel the United States as The Blue Devils bring TEMPUS BLUE to Drum Corps International’s 50th Anniversary celebration of excitement and excellence. “A certain blue enters your soul.” – Henri Matisse LAPIS LAZULI – Original Composition by Dave Glyde DIVINE BLUE – Original Composition by Dave Glyde CARNIVAL OF VENICE (Titian) – Niccolo Paganini MOON RIVER (Blue Flower) – Henry Mancini (Arr. By Jacob Collier) HANDS AND FEET (Picasso) – Michel Camilo SILK SONIC INTRO (Yves Klein) – Bruno Mars TANK! (Yves Klein) – Yoko Kanno HOME OF THE BRAVE (Blue Earth) – Thomas Bergerse “Preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we’ve ever known.” – Carl Sagan

  16. Here is what the saying was from the video Rúguǒ wǒ shì tiānshàng de xiù bù, jīnguāng yǔ yín guāng Someone pointed out that it's the first two line of the Yeats poem in Mandarin Chinese.
  17. Here's a short video https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cd6VfJVgsoH/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= I wonder if the show is inspired by W.B. Yeats poem Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven?
