  1. Fred, I humbly agree. I was a fan from 1945 to 2000, annual Allentown attendee from 70's to a few years ago. I think it's great that there are still corps and fans, but my one show a year is the Profiles show in York. BTW, I played in the Lehigh band in the 50's, so I saw well-intentioned scramble bands like Princeton and Columbia.
  2. Last year there was a group set up across the street from the diner mid-day Fri, selling spots on both sides of the street. They had one 2-nite spot left. I gave them my email, but got no contact info from them. Will try Thursday if we get there in time.
  3. Last year, some group sold reserved parking in the lots on North St. Elmo (between HamFam and the stadium). Does anybody know who that was and how to sign up for this year?. For the last 20-30 years we have parked on S. St. Elmo by Union Terrace park, but I'm getting too old for the walk.
  4. Thanks for both your comments. I had always assumed the original one was mis-marked, since it's definitely not a wide rim. Bach listings don't show a 10-3/4C, so I thought it might have been something else, maybe a 10-1/2C. Whatever, it served me well for many years, and the 10-3/4CW acts the same with a more comfortable rim. Thanks also for the encouragement - I've played piano/keyboards for over 60 years, and found I could lay off for a month or two and jump right back in. Not so with the trumpet.
  5. My 1952 (New York) Bach came with a 10-3/4CW mouthpiece. After several years it got a little pitted and I bought another one. The newer one is marked "Mt. Vernon" and cost $7, so it was a long time ago. The newer mouthpiece looks like I would expect a wide rim to look: bigger, more rounded rim, and about 1/16" larger outside diameter (although the cups look the same).. I didn't like it much at the time, so bought a 7C and used that until I hung it up in 1972. After 40 years, I've started trying to play again, and awakened my curiosity about the 10-3/4CW's. Was the first one mismarked, or was the design changed? By the way, at 77 years, I'm finding the wide rim more comfortable. Dick
  6. Been going to this show since the 70's, and getting a little old for the trek from Union Terrace (S. St. Elmo) across Ham Blvd and up the hill. Is gate 3 (the one at 22nd and Turner) still open? Thinking about parking on Chew street by the cemetery or west of there. Or does someone have a better recommendation?
