  1. This post presents an extremely interesting and well-thought perspective.
  2. In light of the BD licensing snafu with RWOS and the international DVDs, will the Pretty Kitty show require special licensing considerations or will it be a bow-wow?
  3. Well I think all on DCP will agree that he definitely has caused a few sparks and blazes in his day!
  4. They could always ask Hannum for percussion arrangements. He's a Bones Alum. Same with Hopkins; yea, he definitely will tell you he know's a lot about show designing. There are a lot of Bones alumni currently teaching/designing/judging. Doesn't just have to be the Texas band crowd, does it now?
  5. The Gamecocks are having all those hassles??? When Cadets had the 2 Pouncey brothers from USC on the podium as their QBs, good things happened!
  6. Come on! What's all the noise? It's only the state of ohio....:thumbdown:/>/>
  7. Oh good! You had me worrying about what SCV did with that tunnel in Buffalo at the end of their show back in '9_
  8. That's exactly the way Rod was. EVERY corps was important because every kid was important to him and corps were made of kids, senior corps of big kids. And Ray Fallon, the same held true for all those legendary judges you mentioned. I think JJ Pepitone and J. Prosperie are in that category.
  9. This man and his efforts have been rightfully applauded several times in the past year on DCP. I remember a very stirring tribute Michael Boo wrote about this very man and his efforts and the benefit Michael and his family gleened upon the death of Michael's Dad. Perhaps you might merge the threads so that folks wouldn't have to research the archives to learn more.
  10. I believe what you correctly state is known to many on DCP. But any of us who know how DCI really operates knows that what happens at the Janual doesn't happen in a vaccuum. Much occurs in earlier discussions and reviews besides possible rule changes. Where will the activity be geographically heading in '14? Who will pay for it? Who can't pay for it? What has 2013 taught us? What judges stay, which ones go and why? How do we do certain things and not do others? What should not be done again? What can't we afford to do (again)? How much do we increase salaries? Can we afford Michael Boo since he is priceless? ETC., ETC., ETC.
  11. and another one on TV too. Hey gang ... a CADET!!!! Cn we vote for him and his crew please .. Hi George, ... Jason Stotz again. Was just wondering if you could help spread the word this week as I will be appearing with the group Catapult Entertainment this coning Tuesday 9/10/13 for the 4th and possibly final time on America's Got Talent. We have made it to the to the top 12 and need America to vote for us to make it into the top 12. I was wondering if there was any way, with your vast artistic reach, that you would be able to plug us this week. It would e a huge help. And once again, let me know if you need any instructors for the corps or marching bands. I was disappointed I was unable to join the Cadet team this summer, but am always willing to help the yea program whenever possible. Let me know. Here's a link to one of our more well-received performances on the show. http://touch.dailymotion.com/video/x13elu9_catapult-entertainment-top-60-performs-agt-2013_tv I'd appreciate any support and would love to get involved in the yea programs in the coming years. Thanks again for everything. Jason
  12. Oh no! Not MORE work for Tony DiCarlo to do while he is practicing his imitation of how to get airplanes to the right gate at Logan Airport?
  13. Does that get credit on the guard sheet or the percussion sheets? Visual or musical analysis?
  14. ...I thought we had agreed 1) to be nice 2) the Regiment already did a Violin show.
  15. So it has been roughly a month since '13 championships and now DCI directors, committees, and subcommittees flock together again to assess, review, and renew. What do you think the newest rounds of closed door discussions will consider, propose, and dispose? Talk nicely. There already are many threads to rerun for "favorite" topics. Be as creative, accessible, and outstanding as you expect the show designers to be.:smile:/>
  16. Recall that Boston Crusaders used LED lights under the white scrim which they rolled out during Charlie's great Les Miz low brass solo.
  17. Quoted Source??? In case some folks might think you are being sardonic or creative.
  18. all you were missing above was the Reverah accent (I am picturing/hearing Sully give his dribble to Cesario/Rondinaro/DeLucia...
  19. and this all relates to World Class DCI junior drum corps how??? I agree with Garry. Take it outside.
  20. To the international fans and participants who make DCI International- This may be a solution. I will gladly be the courier for your DVDs if you supply the frequent flier miles and TAXES for the flight, a place to put my head to rest, and some wonderful local cuisine. I have frequent flier miles surely, but those flight taxes back and forth across the pond are almost as much as certain corps tour fees. Then again, I think one of the more frequent and contraversial DCP posters from the Baltics probably could ferry a suitcase or two worth of these gems on his next flight. Maybe he is back in the States already as he is commenting on the LOS accident thread which I presume someone would not do prudently from West Russia. To those in the Pacific West, I am pretty certain that more than one San Francisco drill writer will be hop skipping to Japan, perhaps Taiwan, and might do the same if you ask nicely. Really Indonesia, DCI is going to leave you out after you came all the way this summer to make their Drum Line thing truly International. Maybe Mr. A can bring some on his next trip. And Michael Boo always goes to China at least once a year... perhaps if you ask nicely. Otherwise you'll have to ask Hopkins to rerun the Christmas show so that Santa can bring them worldwide.:rolleyes:/>
  21. Oh No! A show about "String Theory." Calling Dr. Sheldon Cooper...
