This has been a strange year with the weather playing a big part, prelims should be a great show
-
Maybe for you guys but I know at Sky we did a full show in prelims
-
Not in DCA, 73 was my 1st year in Sky and I was at the 72 DCA. All shows were complete
-
In 1975 at the Beantown Invitational Jackie Lester the electric pencil zeroed out 8 of the 10 percussion sections, we (Sky) ended up 2nd with a .04 and the Hurcs won that night with a 0.6
-
btw, both C2 and Fusion had penalties of 2.8 and 2.6 respectively for unfinished programs
-
Full show prelims were way before that, at least from 1972
-
In 88 finals ended up being on Monday night,

Fusion Core Alumnus Murdered

Andrew Hill was a young man dedicated to his community and a fine snare drummer, His sudden loss came as a major shock to all of us that knew and cared about him, may he RIP -
Mr. Pratt is in my thoughts and prayers, he is an icon in the rudimental drumming world

This could turn out to be one of the most exciting finishes in DCA history. Has been a weird season the way the adjudicated opportunities have been stretched out for some groups but I expect to see some hellified performances coming from everyone over the next couple weeks. The ultimate winner will be the crowds that come to the shows
-
The midwest will be getting numbers on Aug 5, don't think there will be any South DCA numbers till the end of Aug
-
Wouldn't be surprised to see quite a few. That being said, right now the Buccs are untouchable, who knows in 6 weeks
-
AS we all know, until it's all in the same arena,it's numbers on a page. I will put this out there though, DCA may be "must see TV" this season. Some really cool shows out there that will be hell come Aug

The only difference is no scores, the corps are getting the same feedback from the judging community that they would get had there been scores and placements. I don't see what the big deal is -

Hey Fran Was great seeing you on Saturday. the one thing I will say is that DCA could be "must see TV", so to speak this season. Some cool things going on and the competition may be tighter than ever. -

Sky made some good strides last year and put on an excellent exhibition at finals, good to see -
Younger than most of DCA was at the time, I guess you never heard the term "young adult"
-
Wrong, while the overall age group was somewhat younger, most of the corps was adults, I'd say mid 20's to late avg might be more like it. And yes I was there

So you like to drum and it's been a while since you were part of a drumcorps, band or any type of music ensemble. You're looking for a place to perform great music in a friendly atmosphere and a limited schedule. The St Rita's Brassmen Alumni corps is looking for you. We're interested in percussionists of all genres, including drumset and keyboards as well as obviously marching percussion. We utliize a diversified approach to percussion so, all are welcome, no matter what your music background is. The corps is looking to expand for 2016 and is planning a great program that will continue to give our audiences the quality performances that they have come to expect from the St Rita's Brassmen Alumni, so brass and color guard are also more than welcome. You can contact me regarding percussion at my e-mail address (idrum52@yahoo.com) or on Facebook for further information. Should you wish information regarding Brass and Guard, inquires can also be made and I will direct you to the proper people. J. Frank Nash Percussion Arranger\instructor

I love Crowns percussion this year, however, when you're talking scant tenths of a point making the difference between 1st and 4th place, being out of the top 3 is dangerous territory

2015 Rankings (by most recent score)

However, if I'm not mistaken for DCA purposes that 70.55 score holds up -

Why would you take a show if you know in advance a large number of members couldn't make it
