  1. The push to the end will be huge too. I may have my bias, but I love this show.
  2. Also remember that it isn't always the best person who makes it- it's the right person. Get as good as you can, never let "good enough" exist in your mind. Always strive to be better. Show the right attitude and work ethic and you are worth more than the best player in the world who lacks it. I can't speak for BK but when I auditioned for Troop, there were people who were admittadely better than me that didn't make it. I remember standing in a sectional during my audition weekend and noticing that a good few people weren't going to be coming back after the weekend and I knew I had to fight for my spot I wanted.
  3. Is there any update to when this will be released on media outside theatres? Dvd, download, etc
  4. I remember spring training last summer- theres a big horse thing that goes on towards the end of spring training at the rehearsal site, I think it might have been an annual thing? Probably why there was the horse in the picture.
  5. :O Since when does TSFH let DCI use music?! Good news though, that's amazing stuff!
  6. Come on guys! This is obviously about Patrick Star!
  7. That is sick looking!! What corps/year is this? Some of my favorites: Phantom's blacks in mid 90s (looked sick) 80s/90s scouts (there were a few variants, but that red sash just looked so sharp) I feel like I'm in the minority of people who like the 2013 bluecoats uniforms a lot Star had a few cool uniforms I liked, like the pinks Troop (that cavalry just looks classy every time) http://puu.sh/6jTIa.jpg this half mask I've always loved I've actually really liked Academy's uniforms, especially with the red gloves they wore this last season. Kilties, because you can wear the kilts traditionally
  8. I'd like to see a really good SCV show now like a lot of people. I really liked them last year. There's some really good stuff corps all over are doing this upcoming season, lots of it I'm not allowed to talk about that I've heard from people (effing opsec for you I guess ) I think 2014 will be another really big year, this are going to be really difficult.
  9. I loved 2010 and 2011. 2012 was alright. Didn't like 2013 much personally, but it wasn't for lack of skill. Hopefully they come back again. They're a very strong corps with a lot of potential.
  10. I've talked to a few "big names" in the activity about this (don't have permission to use their names so I won't). Most of the time they say their inspiration is taken from listening to things and jotting it down. Lots of times they have a big list of things to use in shows, some of them end up getting used, some of them not.
  11. Some breaking benjamin or something would be neat to see. Don't know how you'd get it to work. Completely unrelated to the purpose of this post, but one thing I've really wanted to see is a modern star wars show. I know scouts and north star both had content in 78. Some of that music is epic, would be really cool in a high powered drum corps setting. You'd have to execute it in the right way though. That and it would probably be a pain to get licensing rights and stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GW-E0dOfdoc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bzWSJG93P8 BD even did some if you know where to dig it up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeGBnpwPfrA Two steps from hell or something would be fun :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRLdhFVzqt4 I can gauruntee that won't happen though. Hardly a "modern band" but if you're into neo-orchestral music.
  12. Quick question. A friend of mine talked me into auditioning with him at Phantom. I figured it was close enough and it's an awesome corps with history in a lot of friends of family of mine, I might as well give it a shot, right? Their camp is help on November 29-December 1st. I really want to march next season in a full time corps to get that experience. How should I handle auditioning for multiple corps? Obviously I can't be at two camps at the same time so I have to plan around that. But should I register and plan to go multiple camps and see what happens, should I wait until after I get the result from the Regiment, etc. Does anybody have experience with this sort of thing? Thanks for your time.
  13. The tools a person uses are important, but whats more important is how you use them. It's unfortunate the change happened in some ways, but it was bound to happen, and it really does help out corps economically. Especially ones that are just starting out and may not have as much money to spare as some of the top 12s out there.
  14. I don't remember it ever being done in DCI so far. It would be cool to see... if they did it properly, that is.
