  1. Who wouldn't want to see a show about cats and dogs living together?
  2. Come on DCP'ers let's get them to 2000 by Friday! It just takes a second to vote.
  3. Bump - Voting is fun! it just takes a second and no Apps to download.
  4. @Jerseyboy, There is no denying that Donny assisted in increasing the corps hornline numbers from 2007 to 2010, this was also aided by the corps push out of last place in 2009. In my opinion Donny was another victim of what I would call the 'program coordinator curse' at Pio which is a very difficult job. Many who have stepped into that position have only lasted a couple of years max. My hope is that they can make the right changes this year with staff and programming to build the group again.
  5. @Mellohorn were you checking birth certificates at the gate?
  6. John, I can't believe what I am reading. But I'll humor you.... Define "fire" Also, I must say, although '96 was a great year for the corps in Division II, just because an alum marched or taught the corps back then does it automatically give them the right to hold the keys for the 2011 line? Sounds like the pot is calling the kettle "green"? If you define "college age" as someone that is younger than you, I think you would be hard pressed to find corps out there that don't utilize this age group of people as instructors- even at the top levels.
  7. I hope the 50th anniversary of the corps can bring many of the the alumni out of the woodwork. To stay.
  8. If you were so committed to improving the corps, you would fly yourself in.
  9. I talked to a few people. It's no secret that Donny was very passionate about this show - it was his baby. I hope they continue to look forward and put the right people in place for the corps 50th anniversary in 2011. By the way, Roman turned 69 this year.
  10. Cool song, I shook my booty a little. Are glowsticks allowed for on field use?
  11. I think due to construction, their housing has been changed to: Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet School 1140 West Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Street, Indianapolis, IN‎ 414-327-2847 Call the corps office to confirm.
  12. Officer Jenny and Drillwatcher approve of this year's show. Although maybe Mr. Huntley could have stayed longer? Can't wait to hear hymnsong - maybe by championships Donny?
  13. I understand where you are coming from, I am an alum myself so I will always support and believe in the corps that allowed me to march. By taking a look at other corps who I would call the "new old guys on the block" and most recently have made strides to become more competitive in a BIG way (Blue Stars, Troopers) It takes an investment by the Board of Directors and the Executive Director to make this change happen. I was having the same discussion with another FMM tonight - take a look at what other corps executive team's have done to ensure the COMPETITIVE success of the corps - hiring of storied program and music coordinators, consultants and designers, and a "team" of technicians who stick around, believe in the mission of the corps, and have a high placing world class history. In regards to getting beat by Teal Sound, they are the new car that had a good first show, I know Pioneer usually get's a late start due to the many HS students that come in late so drill isn't put on the field until Everydays. So they play a little catchup in the preseason, but I think they've figured it out with the midseason schedule this past couple of years though. This debate comes up about every 8 weeks, so if you don't hear what your waiting for this round, give it time.
  14. It's nice to have connections. I see striking similarities to the Fan Network, but instead of sharing the proceeds with DCI it's going directly to them. Not a bad business move, but is it a good one for the activity as a whole? Seems that some corps are biting the hand that feeds them these days.
  15. Nice to see. Hopefully this experienced World Class addition will help them fill out the ranks in the colorguard section. Others are nice to see too. Looking forward to seeing Pioneer this summer.
  16. Hats off (no pun intended) to those who have worked very hard to make this pre-season a success! I cent wait to see what the Summer will bring. March 1st for those who came before you March 2nd for those whose path you pave March 3rd for those who will stand beside you this year March last for yourself "drillwatcher"
  17. 3rd Star, before we all board the assumption train If you look at the number of sponsors now compared to the number of corporate sponsors in the mid 90's, I think you would find there are many more who have made the investment in DCI. Many companies such as budweiser have pulled thier sponsorship dollars from many racing venues. Are these races shrinking? No, but Bud wants to spend their money in other ways. But I do think that through Disney's corporate partnership helped DCI in the mid 90's gain a solid footing.
  18. Craig does a great job, I believe he is majoring in photography. Good stuff!
  19. I hate to rain on everyone's parade but their probably won't be a Spirit of Disney award this year because Magic Music Days is no longer a corporate sponsor of DCI. good topic though.
  20. The only show tonight (the 9th) was columbia, SC.
  21. Wow that is great news to hear. Luckily I've got the fan network this year - Don't think I'll be able to see them live until right before Quarters. Light it up, Pio!
