I love seeing the pics of Trafalgar. That's where I spent my high school band camp years--that old tower certainly brings back memories! The snakes? Not so much.
When Rufus Wainwright's album came out with Oh What A World in 2003, I couldn't stop listening to it and thought, "#### that would make a great drum corps piece." And now it is! I won't be able to see them live. Does anyone have their version of it to share?
That backfield guard video? I think I'm responsible for about 100 views. Incredible. Joyful. Energetic. Stunning. Perfect angles. Technique. Just an amazing view into the work that all of these young people put into this. And that crowd reaction? Wonderful.
I agree with everything you said. I find these GoPro perspectives to be awesome, exciting, and just fantastic to watch. I hear bits and pieces, see how a show fits together, etc. The Crown kid who did it last year--I couldn't stop watching it. Totally an amazing marketing tool for DCI.
I think Rufus Wainwright has a ton of music that would be good for a corps to do, particularly a ballad. Not sure who, but since Bluecoats did a great job with Vienna Teng's piece this year, let's go for Bluecoats.
I predict Bluecoats will do a show entitled "Melt"
They can melt your faces.
They can melt the turf.
The field will ooze off of the sidelines.
Impossible you say?
That's what I say. That's what D.C.Patrick says.
