  1. Over the years on DCP, I have now come to associate Snoopy as a quiet dog with some killer one-liners
  2. I am one of those people who complains about Allentown every year, I'm definitely in agreement with you. At the same time, I can see that it is completely logical for DCI to stay in Allentown, whether it is safely accessible for certain folks or not.
  3. Meh, I think the dust will settle on Thursday, atleast for the first place spot. All the bickering over one night vs two nights is pointless.
  4. I'm hoping for a drill move with the guard where they are in the shape of a sword and they come down and pierce the top of the Crown all the way to where the battery is standing just like the show logo.
  5. Honestly I don't know. I've been a bit of a Crown stan this season and it took me a while to warm up to the Bluecoats, but I'm finally on board with their show. The only show of the top 4 I haven't been able to get behind is Boston's, and I have purposefully not made a single comment on the Boston 2023 thread this season out of respect to them and their corps. Very funny indeed
  6. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it will still continue, but streaming users will not get the in-between commentary that theater watchers will. At one point in time I believe the stream would stop working once the theater stream began but I do not think that is the case anymore. My experience last year at the theater was my last straw. Low volume, late start, and some inconsiderate drum corps fans around me. The older I've gotten, the more I've realized that the only person I can depend on to meet my expectations is myself. So I guess I truly am a part of the dino club now, at the old ripe age of 27 lol
  7. Not to be crass, but money is pretty important to the survival of this activity and I don't think a couple older folks tripping up uneven stairs outweighs that. Especially when I highly doubt DCI would be liable in any way should an incident occur because of said stairs/lack of accessibility. I'd imagine terms like that are spelled out when tickets are bought. Allentown sold out regardless
  8. Hmm do I watch this in a movie theater filled with annoying teenagers who won't get off their phones or in the comfort of my own apartment on my Apple TV with AirPod Maxes on? Tough one
  9. If I had to make a (realistic) wishlist prediction as a modification to my original prediction, it would probably look like: 1. Blue Devils 2. Carolina Crown 3. Bluecoats 4. Boston Crusaders 5. Phantom Regiment 6. Cadets 7. Mandarins 8. Cavies 9. Troopers 10. Colts 11. Blue Stars 12. Blue Knights
  10. It is my understanding that individual judges don't get to see what other judges are giving to a corps. So if a tie happens, it isn't some conspiracy or inadequacy by the judges. It's just some very lucky (or unlucky, depending on your perspective) math
  11. Oh there are multiple people, though I guess one voice is louder than the others.
  12. These are my predictions from June 27th. Other than mandarins and Blue Stars being quite off, not too shabby 1. Blue Devils 2. Carolina Crown 3. Bluecoats 4. Boston Crusaders 5. Phantom Regiment 6. Cadets 7. Cavaliers 8. Blue Stars 9. Troopers 10. Mandarins 11. Colts 12. Blue Knights
  13. The last time Boston beat BD in guard was July 28th. Just saying.
  14. Boy, people in the show thread seem pretty riled up that BD fans aren’t concerned by the supposed “close” gap. A lot of complaining about BD fans but very little to no comments by BD fans in there. Interesting. Methinks the gap will be closer to 1 point than 0.5 in Indy
  15. “Managing” numbers just means making compromises that aren’t necessary to make.
  16. They aren’t a monolith. They don’t all share the same views on winning. Are we forgetting this is an educational youth activity?
  17. And judges don’t get to adjust ordinals from the corps from the day before like they get to do in single day competitions
  18. BD had #1 in the content ordinals almost across the board except for percussion and one GE judge. They just need to do their thing which is clean. I still don’t think they will be touched but we will see in Indianapolis
  19. The anger and frustration has blinded some Madison alum. They've lost sight of what this activity is about: the members. Who they gleefully cheer to fail out of a vendetta against the leadership. If there's anything that's pathetic in here, it's that.
  20. I don't really support just shutting the discussion thread down, as it is still related to DCI. But it is difficult to call this a discussion thread when one person dominates the entire discussion and shuts down any dissenting thoughts by flashing credentials.
  21. Probably a mix of older stadiums combined with less extreme weather than the Midwest and south
  22. It truly is a terrible venue acoustically. Doesn’t seem the most accessible for older folks either. I’ve heard some bad things about the field from friends who have marched too
  23. Makes me so happy to see this. Welcome back Phantom
  24. Feels like they’re getting hosed in brass. They’ve seem to have a bigger and more vibrant sound, insane rhythmic challenges on top of environmental challenges, and a huge variety of techniques on display
  25. I honestly feel like this show flows so much better than Mandarins, it’s so cohesive I’m not really understanding the GE scores.
