  1. It looks promising. Larry Case is a good appointment. I believe his son was drum major when Pio was one show away from a three-peat in were DII. I’m sure he would love to see them competitive again. Long road ahead. Godspeed!
  2. I think he was being sarcastic and referencing the Flomarching commentator who said something to the effect that all male corps could be pushed harder.
  3. I never thought Relampago was a hideous idea. It was a bit obscure and poorly conceived. How many drum corps fans are also familiar with Mondo Lucha? A niche activity conceived within a niche activity? Not a good recipe for success.
  4. Yup, there are also the comments on here. It’s evident anytime someone uses the word “prancing”. Of course they’ll deny it but most of us know that’s a code word.
  5. I don’t know exactly when he was director of Pio but I think it was when they were placing in the low to mid teens or perhaps when they were a DII powerhouse.,
  6. I see he scrubbed his bio of anything related to Pioneer.
  7. I remember Pio turning over unpayed dues to a collection agency a few years back. You would think they had learned their lesson. Durrrrr
  8. I admire your self control. If I ran into him he would be hatless for the rest of the weekend.
  9. I don’t know the details. It almost seems insignificant at this point. Lol
  10. I thought the gofundme was for Roman’s rv. There was a reddit post complaining about the rv taking precedence over the food truck. I take what I read on reddit with healthy dose of skepticism.
  11. You’re off by ten years. That show was in 1998. The following two seasons they placed 17th and 16th respectively. Not too shabby as semi-finals was still the top 17.
  12. Here is a comment from a parent on Pioneer’s Facebook page. Here was our life back in July that ended my son’s tour. The medical staff’s theory to the staph infection leading to multiple points of infection was the lack of medical treatment he received weeks prior when he had a lip infection. The infection was likely released into his blood stream and scattered throughout his lungs. He was denied medical treatment for his lip for 3 days until he started having chest pain. The medical team believes that it was at that point that the lung infection started. The day he was hospitalized staff told him to call me to get a steroid prescription that he had received when I brought him home to have him seen for the lip infection by our own dr. My son, in tears, told me that his chest pain was worse and had spread but staff just wanted him to get more meds. I threatened to drive to Milwaukee and take him myself if they didn’t. They did and at that point he was hospitalized with unknown respiratory infection. If you read the comments with my updates you will see that even though he was hospitalized under high isolation the staff allowed another member use the tuba he was playing and had no concerns over it until I pointed out the problems with it! This is all in called for. My son’s story is only one of many that occurred this summer, but we are grateful to know that not everyone had issues. However, it would be great for those that didn’t have issues to recognize that the ones that did are not exaggerating or lying. I could have lost my son this summer due to this medical neglect on the part of staff and administration! https://www.gofundme.com/rally-for-wade-freeland is f
  13. There’s some parking where the street dead ends. Yes, there’s an observation platform.
  14. Don’t feel guilty. If you had gone to anyone with your concerns who could change things they would have fallen upon deaf ears. Trust me, I’ve sent letters to Pioneer in the past with details on how things could be fixed, mainly about who to contact for help developing a strong board of directors. I even VOLUNTEERED my grant writing skills. Never a word back, not even a “kiss my ***”.
  15. I think Sandra Fugh is his daughter. Murray Davis is also on the admin team. What an inbred cluster **** edit - Has anyone called that number?
  16. It’s a metaphor. I knew things were heading south when RB found hats for the corps that closely resembled his.
  17. I’ve been to some rehearsals there. It’s not all that bad. Gen. Mitchell is no O’Hare.
  18. It is perfect for a drum corps, isolated and no chance of noise complaints.
  19. Although it abuts the airport, it’s not convenient to the airport if that makes sense.
