  1. Wow, am I glad the Fan Network webcasts were last two nights. My internet connection is down to 1mb down (statewide issues with Charter intrnet, apparently). Yeesh!
  2. I must have logged into the "good" FN by mistake again, because my sound was again more than adequate.
  3. Sorry, forgot my smilie face. And I once rode a roller coaster with Mick Foley. Nice guy. (Back to the show).
  4. I believe they call it "soda" in that part of PA.
  5. Academy's show makes me think of Spike Jones, and VK (both in a good way).
  6. Wait...I thought that was Blue Knights a couple years ago.
  7. One of Alabama's minor league baseball teams is the Montgomery Biscuits. The logo features what looks more like a stack of pancakes to me. I still miss the hockey team in Georgia that went by the name Macon Whoopee. I kid you not. Should have got my jersey while they were still around. Their first logo was simply a fig leaf with the name of the team in the middle. Anyway, back on topic -- the weather for night two still looks a bit dicey. Radar watching will again be the order of the day.
  8. I miss the Blue Knights funky bent leg pre-step thing they used to do.
  9. Yes. I'm listening through headphones, and someone very near the microphone sneezed a couple times during the Blue Stars' ending number. Just struck me as funny.
  10. I think its the narrator. He makes the costume change during the Pink Floyd narration at the end (which is now pre-recorded).
  11. SFZFAN, its probably best if you just fixed dinner or something and not watched during the next 15 minutes or so.
  12. We had a similar situation with an earlier live webcast event -- rain kept the sound and video options limited early on, but got better after the crew was able to readjust in drier conditions.
  13. You can have the same program for your very own (its really not that "exclusive"), at http://www.grlevelx.com/ (This is not a plug, just posted for informational purposes).
  14. Fan Network says a 30 minute delay due to weather. Edited to add: Rain intensities on radar seem to be decreasing around Allentown (red is gone, amount of orange and yellow decreasing), so that's a sign that the storms in the area are raining themselves out. That's a good sign. Hopefully we can go down to greens and blues, and then nothing. The show should go on, if not a bit later than planned.
  15. Be careful if you are travelling in from NYC or through northern New Joisy -- a few flood warnings in those areas.
  16. Horn player doing "bug squish" +.25 Horn player doing "double bug squish" +.275 Horn player doing "reverse double bug squish" (also known as "gotta pee") -.275
  17. And it looks like storms are starting to pop around southeastern PA. My gut tells me it is going to storm at some point in Allentown today. Let's hope they roll through earlier rather than later (during show time).
  18. I'm a bit nervous about that big mass of rain down in Virginia and Maryland. I'm nervous because of how extensive it is, and the fact that it it appears to be trying to move north. Having said that, I don't have access to model data that I would have if I was at work, so I am not sure of the exact mechanism involved. Hopefully this rain area moves as much (or more) east as it does north. And Rainshdw mentioned something about some dry air eroding the northern edge of the rain mass, so that would be good too. And actually, a little rain before show time would be helpful since that would decrease the instability that could lead to more thunderstorms later on (such as during the show). I haven't looked at tomorrow's situation at all...one day at a time.
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kuD_LGjioo Taiwan roller coaster is a fan.
  20. I'm still on vacation, so have very limited computer model access. From what I can tell, neither day should be a complete washout. One clue to this in the NWS forecast is that they state "scattered showers and thunderstorms." This tells me they are pretty certain there will be some rain around, but scattered here and there. With about a 50/50 chance that any particular location will get one of those showers during the day Friday, 30% chance after 8 pm Friday, 40% during the day Saturday, and again 30% after 8 pm Saturday. If the field can handle some rain and drain properly, then at worst there should only be some delays. Hopefully. At worst. Hopefully. I think. IMO, any forecast that at this point that has more than 50% or less than 30% chance of rain is probably putting (too much) faith in single model. Pro-tip: be wary of any weather forecast source that gives a single number for a chance of rain (along with highs and lows) for a whole day. That rain chance number applies to the whole 24 hour day. Meaning, a 70% chance means that there is a 7/10 chance of getting measurable rain at some time during the 24 hour day -- it could actually come overnight. It doesn't necessarily apply to the time you are interested in.
  21. So glad to hear this show is back at Vet Stadium. Saw many shows there back in my youth, which helped cultivate my love for the activity.
