  1. This falls under the sad but true category, and no one seems to be talking about this. What's happening to Spirit is tragic.
  2. So 2015 staff that hasn't heard anything about their status should start sending out resumes? I guess I'm taking about Visual and Guard staff as all the others have "resigned". Big loss for Spirit with Will Pitts moving to Phantom. Also if JW was such a great director (and I believe he was), why wasn't he rehired??
  3. So...1. NO corps director, 2. NO staff announcements (who's leaving, who's staying?), 3. NO audition date. I must say, I'm very worried about 2016. The only communication coming from Spirit is a consistent plea for money. At this point, I couldn't encourage anyone to consider Spirit as an option for 2016. The pool of auditionees is narrowing every day as potential marching members make plans to audition for other corps that have confirmed audition dates, caption heads, etc. Looking for anyone to change my mind on this? Anyone?
  4. Thanks for an example of how to express your dislike of the direction Spirit has taken this year without personal attacks. I agree with several of your comments.
  5. Wow, words to rival any two year old's temper tantrum! Sounds like someone didn't get their way and has just been waiting to say "I told you so"! Staff changes were absolutely necessary for Spirit, and the members are better off for it. Why are we so ready to give up after a rough transitional year? The new staff and admin team are all caring and talented people who want what's best for the members and the corps, they just need time and support instead of negativity and finger pointing.
  6. Yep, Spirit had about 450 real live auditionees. Looks like Spirit DOES know how the game is played...
  7. Spirit has had 300-350 in attendance at Dec audition camp for the last couple of years. With the great new staff, it's not surprising that they are expecting even higher numbers this year.
