  1. Is this why the stream died for 10 minutes and then came back to a pit playing the star spangled banner with no explanation? This is the first event I've tried to watch this year and I almost canceled my subscription and charged back what I paid because they couldn't even rebroadcast without the stream dying.
  2. They already did but it's good for the Cavaliers to have a thread too 😉
  3. Sure, but at this point everyone associated with the corps needs to be replaced or it would be much better for them to just fold. New board, new management, new staff, everyone should go. The staff members who had the decency to resign over this are the only ones who should be considered for employment in the 2023 season. Sounds like a few HoF memberships should be revoked as well while they're at it.
  4. As demonstrated by your having a back and forth with him on a Monday morning
  5. The punishment for not taking care of this stuff before it goes public is that the corps now has to Demonstrate that it can comply with the DCI Code of Conduct in all areas of its operation. Engage an independent third-party consultant to review Spirit of Atlanta’s organizational and training processes, clarify its accountability structure, and create and implement policies and procedures that ensure Spirit of Atlanta’s code of conduct and other policies align with or exceed the requirements of the DCI Code of Conduct. Create a senior leadership position whose principal focus is to ensure that staff, volunteers and performers are provided with a positive working environment and have appropriate training and resources to ensure the health and welfare of all involved. This should be the bare minimum for any corps, not the punishment that happens when they screw up. If the punishment for not taking care of this stuff is that nothing happens except maybe someone will be looking over your shoulder making sure you take care of it next time then what incentive is there for corps to be proactive about it?
  6. Some advice from a long time Cadets fan, don't take it personally when people don't like something about a show, lol
  7. They don't light up and flash for the whole show. It's an absurd comparison
  8. Wow, those screens are so distracting in person. Makes it very difficult to watch the corps with those things in the corner of your eye the whole time
  9. The Casets, everything is prerecorded and played on a walkman pumped through the stadium speakers
  10. This would be an incredibly fast way to kill drum corps.
  11. If the numbers included bingo expenses we'd be talking 5-30 mil instead of 1-10 mil
  12. Or BD or SCV, I doubt any of them include bingo
  13. Do you have evidence that these are the primary drivers of costs?
  14. You can also see the 100 or so people on their staff https://bluecoats.com/staff
  15. We don't really have to guess about the budget, their 990 is on Charity Navigator. In 2017 their total revenue was $2,114,011 $210k came from donations/grants $1.2mil came from the corps camp fees, membership fees, and show fees $231k came from Bingo $163k came from fundraising events $333k came from some kind of inventory sale In terms of expenses $84k went towards officers/directors/etc compensation (Almost all of this is the $82k salary of David Glasgow) $177k went towards other salaries/wages with another $55k towards benefits/payroll taxes $705k went towards travel $419k was considered to be "other fees for services" from non-employees, given the low salary number this probably includes show design and instructors? $194k was bucketed under depreciation Their total "program" expenses were $1.7mil with another $300k in administrative/management expenses
  16. I'm sure it is the salary cap that is keeping the NFL afloat and not the fact the owners are billionaires or that the league brings in billions of dollars every year
  17. Why? What is your cutoff for how much per year a drum corps should cost? How many employees are they allow to have?
  18. Oh yeah, why are ya'll talkin about three-peats then? You can't get a three-peat until 2024 at the earliest
  19. Nah, I'm not nearly malicious enough for real trolling. Ya'll should be arguing that BD winning in 2021 would count as a four-pete because they've been the only DCI champion in 4 years instead of arguing with me about a three-pete.
  20. I thought my last post made everything clear, but fine, here is my proof https://i.imgur.com/vTAyIge.gif
  21. Maybe, they might even place first, just not in three consecutive calendar years which are the requirements for a three-peat in drum corps 😉
  22. No problem, it is right here https://bit.ly/33XkGzc
  23. I don't know the rules for the olympics. It's in the drum corps rules, look it up
