  2. To answer the question that came up, The Watchmen are indeed still in the process of completing the DCI evaluation to become a DCI open class corps. We were represented yesterday at the Drum Corps Pacific meeting and are excited with the progress we've been making this last month. We currently have about 60 members in the group (25 brass 25 percussion and 10 guard) and are still accepting members in our brass and colorguard sections. We are planning on attending the local Southern California DCI shows as well as a few other community and exhibition performances. We have no immediate plans to travel outside of California in the near future and our main goals are to offer students performance and educational opportunities but at a more affordable price. We are very much a grass roots organization but so far we're off to a great start and have had a lot of support from the local drum corps community. Also, If there are any students currently interested in auditioning, we are indeed looking for brass and colorguard members still. We are also offering partial scholarships to music majors. As well as full and partial scholarships to exceptional lead trumpet players. For more information on auditioning please feel free to send me an email. You can visit our webpage is www.watchmenarts.org there you can find information about our staff, schedule, and contact information. You can like us on facebook at Watchmen Arts Association. Thanks! 3. It is my pleasure to announce that the Watchmen from Riverside California will be applying for DCI Open Class status for the 2014 season. For those of you who may not be familiar with the Watchmen, we were formed last year and participated in local DCI shows as a part of DCI Sound Sport. We had a very successful season in which we had 50 students participate in our group. This year we’re hoping to build on that success while continuing with a slow and steady plan of growth for the future. Our goals for the group are to: Keep tuition costs low, provide students with a solid arts education, and to give our participants a great overall experience. This year we are offering students the opportunity to march with our group for a tuition fee of $350. The Riverside/Inland Empire has always been a hotbed of talent and we’re hoping to tap into some of the local talent the area has to offer. We’re keeping tuition costs low by not touring extensively and not spending beyond our means or trying to grow too fast. Our staff currently has 4 band directors as well as several other great local instructors. For more information about our staff and group please visit our webpage at www.watchmenarts.org. There are still a few names that will be added but were excited with the quality and quantity of instructors that we’re going to be able to offer our students this Summer. If you’re a student who is interested in auditioning then please plan on attending our audition days on Sunday January 12th and Sunday January 19th from 1pm-7pm at Patriot High School in Jurupa Valley. All students are welcome regardless of talent level, especially brass players! There is more information on our webpage. If you are an adult who would be interested in volunteering we’d love to have your help too! If you have questions about the audition or if you’re interested in helping out then please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you all for your time and I hope to see you on the field this Summer.
