  1. maybe i'm going off on a whim here but . . . . . . wouldn't anyone like to see Crown do a Latin music show? i'm talking about a Madison '95 - like show. with their power and sound, any hard pounding latin show they put would be so earth-shaking that anyone watching would have their faces peeled back! I've been thinking this since 2012
  2. Let me break down the partial ignorance to that comment . . . . . i love DCI for every year its existed. i just love the conceptual changes and increased difficulty of the newer years (2000's). the sound of the 90's i prefer, the start of the innovations of the 80's i love and the originality and superb sound of the 70' is unmatched. That has nothing to do with the age. I personally love the 90's and 2000's way more simply because they are more cutting edge, alot more difficult and incredibly visual! so Everyfan......... i encourage you to state your favorite shows. i can say like BRASSO my favorites change every day because i find new shows to watch and admire. i finally got to see SCV 2000 today and i absolutely loved it! I also saw Bloo 95 and it was incredible to me. so . . . . . . wheres your top 10? Can you guess my age?
  3. Ummmm don't mean to be the killjoy for most of you wonderful and creative drum corps fanatics....... But the question was best 2nd, 3rd and 4th places! I love how some of you go off on your own tangents and just go into overdrive with answers that have almost no relevance to the question haha
  4. Man, this is a good one. I don't know how many shows i could have debated on with this list. How do I rate this really? I guess im going to take into mind the shows i most enjoyed, admired for the cleanliness, creativity, sound, etc., then take it into consideration how often i actually watched them. Let me start. 1. Cavaliers 2003 - First show i fell in love with, LIVE 2. Carolina Crown 2012 - the power! 3. Madison Scouts 1995 - the power....... Again! 4. Bluecoats 2014 -Bloooooooooooo! best retreat reaction since 08 5. Cavaliers 2006 - Truly the Green Machine! 6. SCV 2013 - Something about this Les Mis that makes the other Les Mis shows crumble 7. Cavaliers 2002 - Frameworks ....... that is all. 8. Cadets 2000 - probably the opener that brings most chills to my body. 9. Carolina Crown 2008 - just an enjoyable show all around 10. Star of Indiana 1993 - Medea . . . . . . ahhhh Medea. Honorable Mentions - Theres too .......toooooooo many to mention but ill sum up a few. BD 88, 92, 94, 97, 99, 03, 04, 07, 11, 14 Bloo 05. 06, 08, 10 BK 14 Blue Stars 09, 14 Cadets - 90, 93, 98, 02, 03, 11 Cavies 92, 95, 01, 08, 10, 14 Crown 07, 09, 10, 13 Crossmen 92, 97, 00 Glassmen 99, 01 PR 89, 93, 03, 05, 06, 07, 08 SCV 89, 98, 99, 01, 04, 05, 06, MS 88, 96, 97, 98, 99, 13 Star 90, 91 VK 92 SOA 87 Ahhh that's good enough
  5. Most DCI fanatics will remember their favorite winners, occasionally they will also remember the winners they completely hated (me included). But some shows that stand at the foot of those champions will ultimately engrave their programs into your brain, and leaving many of wondering "how the hell did this show not win?". Can you recall some 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place shows that have bested your hearts and set themselves apart from even the champions that beat them? Please get creative and don't be hypocrites or biased to just one corps.
  6. I personally love the show. I don't know how many of you know what astronauts go through in space and the significance of the trampolines. the Frisbees are comets or meteorites, obviously, and the trampolines are symbolist to the weightlessness and the training they do out there. if anything the show is truly for the imaginative and thinking man/woman. Is it a little excessive visually? I don't really think so, if you truly understand the context of the entirety of the show. I applaud them for the risk. Look at BD. Talk about excessive. but its all in context, and its one of their best shows in years IMO. Its gonna be hard for them to repeat but you gotta love the revolutionary look at the drum corps concept. Except of criticizing with close-minded opinion, open up to the idea and love it for being fresh and new. Look at Star '93 Medea. the silence was haunting and new, but it gave me chills and a sense of suspense and thousands still consider it one of the best shows in history (I.E. Me!) TY Crown for doing what you do! This is truly a space show that represents, well, space, not just playing themes from The Planets or other musical pieces related to space (I know they use a bit from the theme of Jupiter, so hush people). They will be incredible by August. Note: I've followed DCI since 2003
