  1. So much improved over last night. Felt much more locked in. I assume there will be a penalty, so have to see where the raw numbers put them. a lot of great performances tonight
  2. Seems like all these corps had their best run of the season tonight, which really is an important goal for all of them. I had ties to Nashua in the past, so very excited to see a home town team win, but I also really appreciate what these smaller Open Class corps are doing to keep the activity alive. Covid hit some groups hard, nice to see them fighting onward Congrats to all
  3. I would love to see BAC squeak out a win. I say squeak because the talent and performance levels are outstanding across so many of these corps. Bloo is great, but not as great as one of their previous recent years. BD is always so strong, but I don’t care for this show as much. 86 & 17 BD are two of my favorites of all times, and I have a few personal friends that marched BD. I am not a hater at all, I just believe that BAC has the slightest edge overall this year.
  4. Much improved in 24 hours. I felt that they struggled with the new ending last night, where tonight looked much more confident. and by struggled, I mean only certain things that stood out, not a collapse by any means. much better run all around
  5. Boston's placement is very exciting for all of the BAC crew on here. There is way too much season left and the final placement could be 1-2-3-4- or 5. 4 or 5 seem unlikely, just as 1 appears to be pretty solid now too. That said, I am a parent of a child that was sitting in 1st place after San Antonio only to see things end up very different 3 weeks later. The truth is, I don't recall the numbers being this tight in the past. Many have said it here tonight already - but everyone is really bringing "it", and of course - there is no defense in drum corps. I look forward to enjoying the next 3 weeks
  6. It is very hard to tell on Flo, but CadeTA seemed to have a much better run than last night. Anyone watching on Flo has no idea if it is bad camera angles, bad microphone placement, good sound, bad sound, etc... in any case, Cadets looked improved over last nights performance congrats to the kids for finishing strong
  7. While I tend to agree based on momentum, your post reminded me of 2014. Cadets and Coats went head to head 24 or 25 times. Cadets were on top the first 24, but not the last one when momentum, and the pitch bend, pushed them past cadets. numbers get funny in the last week, so never know until that last announcement
  8. I have been hoping for an 1987 moment, a jump of a couple of spots (17th to 14th) from Thursday to Friday. It was important back then in that moment, yet this one, a jump of one spot, so much more meaningful to keep the consecutive years moving along. Congratulations to the kids that clearly worked so hard these past two weeks
  9. I don't make many comments on this board, so please be kind. The idea that those low placing World Class corps should drop to Open and that the top in Open Class should make the jump might be missing the point. Pioneer know very well what they are and what they aren't. They provide the full tour (or modified version of it) to their group of students. That BDB or SCVC have the resources and talent to perform at such a high level given a modified touring - "Open Class" experience is great. The idea that the BD or SCV parent organizations would take on the full costs of multiple units traveling the full summer experience is also something to be remembered. Results alone don't make or break the competitive season, and there is a great value in the experience, even if passed up by other units at the end.
  10. Sounds like the banners and the work in the brass line is making a better impact. Is boston on the move, or simply keeping pace? Hoping their on the move up, but a lot of very good corps this year
  11. Kevin I understand that Boston was behind schedule coming out of S.T. Do you feel they are catching up, or simply improving at the same rate as others?
