  1. It'll certainly test the server traffic. Lol.
  2. I dunno man. Gordon Food Service (GFS) was known by all back when I was growing up in the 80s as the go to place for bulk food that was easy and quick to prep for large parties. All the band parents knew and it was the source of most all our food for everything.
  3. Whelp here we go. That bit about a possible regional tour tells me they might do what the Cali open class corps did last year and stop there without coming to Indy. If that's their plan, they need to be up front with the auditioners. People rushing pay to audition and perhaps signing contracts thinking they're gonna be part of the big comeback and then paying whatever fees to support this staff and only do a half season....not cool. In practice it could be on par with the "restart with SCVC and build from there" idea some were floating here, but doing it in World Class. Because face it, they'll want the income and Open Class doesn't provide that. That said, if they're taking their big bingo profits and subsidizing the staff salaries to run this comeback, ok then. But I suspect they'll be charging full price for contracting and they need to sort it out and be upfront about what their tour is gonna look like.
  4. Here I was hoping this was a show theme announcement….
  5. Ooh. the folks behind Onyx and BAC's animal farm artistic design. Those masks and such were wonderfully creepy and the body movement stuff they had the guard doing was very animal. I remember when they came out for retreat and the whole guard was doing their animal things. It was fantastic.
  6. Hmm DCA All age could be the stepping stone between SoundSport and Open Class for groups that wish to pursue that.
  7. https://www.washingtonpost.com/obituaries/2023/09/02/jimmy-buffett-margaritaville-singer-dead/ Aw man, we really need someone to take up a Jimmy Buffett tribute show now. Rest in Peace.
  8. If this is supposed to be the sound at the Scramble Light. I was there when the wonderful noisy bell became that annoying chirp. Also when classic Charlie Cardinal became that swoosh bird head designed by a David Bowie look alike.
  9. As native Hoosier who grew up an IU fan in a divided household and split the difference and went to Ball State, that is pitch perfect for the era. I was never a Bobby Knight fan in all of it. Even before "the chair" and "the choke"
  10. Oh man! When I realized the 2023 Cavies show was really about the historical music and drill moves of the Cavaliers shows of years past...mind blown.
  11. 2014 was my reentry into DCI fandom and going to shows. Seeing BAC at Ft. Wayne earlish season made me fall entirely in love with them all over again. The last time I'd seen them live was in College Park when we all fell in love with RED. I was sitting next to a BD volunteer as that opening hit smashed us in the face and the intensity went from 6 to over 9000 and just stayed there. I think when the first rest came I said, "ooh. I like my Boston angry and aggressive with Russian composers. SHe looked at me and laughed, "yeah me too." I don't know if the G7 set was new that show or just getting clean enough to notice but when it came up i was "wait...was that a G7 in the set?" She was "i thought i saw that too..." and we both laughed.
  12. Imagine if you will...."DCI is proud to present the Velvet Knights 2024 production.....Cop Rock"
  13. I'm pretty sure satellite camps and recruiting have been a norm for awhile now? Maybe paused during the pandemic stuff but yeah, they'd be nuts not to in this day and age.
  14. Yeah I saw that live in Annapolis and it was a crazy demanding show. Some of that didn't really show through Flo. That's when I realized fully "ok, this is why the uniforms are definitely not changing to the West Points for finals." There's just no way they could have done all that in those West Points.
  15. I'd say making them take SOAs model for revamping reporting and saftey on top of that. But yeah the financials to safely do a tour ties in with that for me. My fear is it's gonna get an, "Oh we can't lose SCV! Sure you can come on back in 2024! no questions asked!" Then we start getting stories about financal issues on tour, and some of the tolerance of abusive behavior from staff we've been hearing about in the culture comes to the fore as they scrimp on things the members need on tour. This generation doesn't take that sort of crap silently like past generations...it'll leak out all the hell over the place on reddit. At that point morale goes south and the whole thing just becomes extremely unpleasant (at best) for everyone involved.
  16. Strengthen up that left hand and maybe they'll talk.
  17. So. I realized in my scry of corps shops for pins as this year's souvies I'd by, I'd forgotten SCV. Just bought a pin cause it's looking more like it'll be my last chance to get one aside from ebay. Troopers need to get smaller pins back in stock, and there's a fair few corps that need to get on the pin bandwagon!
  18. Pops has the original LP vinyl of this ins his storage. I'd listen to his 50s and 60s records back when in HS
  19. That. Nor can I see the visual designers going all in for this. Although if VK were around...
  20. OMG! I just realized Boston's show was about Moby Dick, you guys!
  21. Oh that sure. But Eurocheese of folk music would be a whole 'other level of weirdness. Some corps could make that leap easily, it'd be too much for Phantom..heh
  22. As the video linked elsewhere mentioned. It was a pretty hard show. They were never gonna fully clean it. But they got it out there with all the verve it needed to shine.
