There’s train service for football and soccer. Could be for this. Lots of local hotels and a Cape vacation too!
Unless it's changed, train service for the sport ball teams was paid for by the sport ball teams to MBTA. I doubt DCI has the cash for that

The Gillette idea isn't half bad actually considering it would shorten travel for some. But it'd mean negotiating for an NFL stadium of course. And the cost.
Although those making the Ohio shows between Allentown and Finals would have to back track. So yeah. Bloomington or West Lafayette make the most sense if not somewhere in Ohio.
Ford Field is there, would probably work, but again its about negotiating the use of the place and the cost. -

You could hold finals at Wesleyan where Open Class finals are held
Innit that kinda small? Searching around it says the home stands are 2000 seats...

Then install and test the new synthetic turf.
I suspect DCI finals might actually BE the test for the new turf

His eyebrows do the same thing mine do during Both Sides Now and go up and down a bit with the melody. It's kind of a Pavlovian thing.

They played a final chord once they were in the tunnel
Ah right. Been awhile since I've watched it.

I don't think the horns were playing on the exit. The performers making the sound were on the field. There's visual effect of them flowing down the tunnel but a lot of that was achieved before crossing the performance lines it seemed to me.

Maybe next year align with the actual 12 days of Christmas? 😁
Anyway this seems like a good place to talk about the Rose Parade bands!
Toho Marching Band from Japan was fantastic. Even did drill in the TV zone. Castle HS sounded fantastic as did William Mason...who had ranks NAILING that hard greater than 90 degree turn with a wide inside arc to guide ranks.- 1

Ah finest of the Phabric Wedgiment era.

Ooh. Thanks. I'd think a Waldo pin would have a fairly wide appeal at least!

I'd like a BAC pin not tied to the year's show. I've started collecting pins from the corps.

Just chiming in that yeah BAC 2000 remains something particularly special. I remember all three nights in College Park there was this complete energy in the crowd when they opened with Bolero and totally a hush as they got to the sung chorale.

Hah YouTube just fed me that show after watching a Kilties Auld Lang Syne video. Then 77 Bridgemen.
Good stuff all around.- 1

I'm always struck how late 80s and early 90s shows are full on "let's have the guard work with weird equipment" visually

i pick BD to cover
This was my thought. BD sort ruins the odds. But then, a smart bookie would set up their lines to exploit ABBD sentiment then hedge enough that should someone pull off a win over BD they don't lose too much.

The rumors were the Bernstein estate was not pleased with how Troopers had done some mashups in their 09 show. That mixed with the realization they could get more money for licensing caused the drum corps hiatus until he who shall not be named built a rapport with the estate when there was a planned effort for a big concert in Central Park that was to be planned with the Cadets participation, which led to Cadets being able to license Bernstein work, blah blah blah etc etc etc we all know what happened then.
Something something ... THAT GUY AGAIN ... something ... Backflip Jesus ... something ... dangit no Cadets?

Crown can repurpose the Round Table into a gigantic one of these and the flags can put rubber tips on their poles and hit it.

Man. Setting that to slo mo and adding the Enya piece just kills me.
Also, the number of cars on the left side that get revealed before it finally hits that van is sorta wild.
Lastly. Herbie there on the end is the only one to stay upright. Those original German bugs were built like tanks.- 2

Imagine the response and GE moment it would make to have a feature that put the whole line on tubas.

Yeah it doesn't bother me all that much. It just sorta stands out having seen High schools make snappier graphics videos.
The selections sound good and I'm looking forward to the show.- 3

Oh that's new then. It's been ages since I lived up there now and it was a "Kraft owns this station and it's only open at his behest."
