I don’t want to sit thru 2 1/2 hours of fluff prior to seeing the production show. I’ll go to rehearsal some night prior. But I will buy a couple tickets just as a donation.

Here’s a video of Matt speaking with the kids. Lets go, Crown!
Isn't anyone worried about skin cancer anymore?

the last 4 days it's been nonstop monsoon rains in the NC/SC area. Not sure how much outdoor practice they have been able to do. Maybe between showers they can get a little done. The rain has been cray where I am, which is about a 40 minute drive from GW.

I heard, to save on diesel fuel, everyone will be transported from city to city in a huge fleet of Wamo autonomous electric cars shaped like semi aerodynamic crowns.

This might be the most quiet I’ve ever seen a crown thread in the off season. Where has everyone been?
Its hard to talk about something when there's so little to talk about. We need some juicy rumors and or leaks that will spark some spirited conversation.
In nothing materializes soon, I suggest we use AI to concoct some rumors. If that doesn't work, we should just make something up.

Yes, it’s being reduced bc of shortened season.
Hearing Feb camp went great. All spots filled. They played early drafts of the show. Apparently the ballad gives goosebumps, even in early state.
Reduced? Does that mean it's cancelled? Is the season shorter than last year?
-
Did they cancel Crownbeat for 2026? It's not showing on the DCI website when you try to buy tickets. Looks like all the other shows are listed.

About 6 inches of snow so far at my place, about 30 miles northwest of Asheville. Very cold too!!
My friends in Charlotte say they are getting a lot of snow too!

They are and have been diagnosing the problems correctly the past year (imo). I’m still not getting my hopes up until we get better verifiable info and evidence than what I have.
We are going to get slammed with snow here too. It’s been a while though. Kinda looking forward to it. Stay safe, buddy!
I bought a sled, now they've changed the forecast to freezing rain. Big disappointment!!!

Yea, percussion seems directionally headed the right direction. The staffing, talent, and musical balance meshed well with brass this year, and fingers crossed, that trajectory continues.
I have no read or inside info yet on colorguard recruitment yet, though the staffing additions seem promising. And the way, they are structuring Rosey (sp?) as a primary Design Team core member who mostly works with Artistic Director and Drill by secondarily liases more with CG is a potential sign of improved focus on guard staging, choreography, and integration. I’ve even heard rumors that Rosey and Keith may be writing some drill in the show with Jeff….of course. I like that idea as Jeff has talent but is hampered by being unable to modernize to modern drill/staging needed for show design. A team approach might work well at finding a new visual balance by leveraging their collective team talents.
Of course….all these are rumors from the web. Will just have to wait and see what actually turns out to be fact vs fiction.
All that sounds very promising!!! We have a big snowstorm coming to the NC mountains this weekend, Can't wait for spring!

One can hope. I think it's possible since the Nissan Stadium is a municipal stadium like Lucas Oil which should make it more affordable. (Unlike the ATL venue.) But I think the new "Kansas Chiefs" (that's weird rolling off the tongue) stadium will be a P3 'public-private partnership' funded by private ownership with tax incentives. The folks in Kansas City & the rest of the state of Missouri are crushed this morning.
Why would they not still be known as the Kansas City Chiefs??? The new stadium will be in Kansas City, Kansas. They are just moving a few miles from Kansas City Missouri, to Kansas City Kansas. Both cities are right next to each other and share the same name.

Visual staff announced today per instagram.
I think he means it's just a lot of names, maybe too many to really know who they all are.

Don't forget the local vuvuzela group, lawn chair drill team, and All-Star Busking Bucket Drummers.
Of course, I forgot! Sounds like a great show, probably a sellout.

crownbeat, in Lexington only has 2 corps?? How can you have a show with only two groups?

Maybe losses by both teams yesterday will quiet the masses.
Yes, seeing them both get beat down was quite satisfying. I bet Matthew McConaughey is in an alcohol induced stupor.

Just beat Texas. I have come to the conclusion that Texas fans are even more insufferable than Alabama fans. Horns Down! (& Geaux Tigers).
I agree, Texas fans are insufferable, but worse than Alabama fans??? I don’t know about that.

What is the reason JR leaving his position?

Their corporate office is located in Pineville, NC between Charlotte and Ft. Mill.
Yes, as I understand it. Everything has moved a few miles up to Charlotte. Not sure why they still hang on to the Ft Mill designation, even though it’s basically a suburb of Charlotte.

yeah true that’s what I meant by better design (thanks for expressing it in a more concise way lol)
Also, a lot of age outs in the guard, so they will need to attract some talent.

Can someone with ties to the Crown org lmk why crown doesn’t have an alumni corps? I’m a total outsider AND I’ve just seen other corps have them so I assumed everybody did
Crown alumni show repertoire would be legendary
I don't know, but I'd guess probably because it costs money and they have other more pressing needs for the available resources.

It was actually sometime in February this year. Their email stated a delay due to the new ticketing system. Maybe they'll be back on track with the timeline.
Right, but they are not changing to a new system next year, so the seats should be assigned earlier. I asked at the booth and they told me around December.

The drums looked green and silver, but at another angle they looked blueish and silver.
