  1. I started a thread last week, when I discovered this feature when I logged into Flomarching (to cancel my annual subscription renewal on June 1). My point in sharing was for those who might want to get some enjoyment during the remaining days of their annual subscription. Then I saw my thread was taken down with no explanation. I particularly enjoyed the 42 Cadets shows (1975, 1977, 1980-2019) they featured on Sunday 5/24. But whatever, I guess my original post was deemed more inappropriate than the usual spreading of wild ### rumors about the Cadets or other nonsense 🙂
  2. I know of one member's family who couldn't be more appreciative of the impressive leadership Denise and her team have shown this season and especially throughout this unprecedented time. This member's family has yet to experience the "lack of information" that you have alleged. But feel free to keep stirring the pot, if it makes you feel better.
  3. When the "Cadets 2020" thread gets bumped to the second page of DCI World Class Corps Discussions, Mr. Acheson, it's time.
  4. Yes, what was this supposed email of which RContra posted late Thursday, then later edited his/her post? Mind you, I remain skeptical of the feasibility of a 2020 season, but it'll be cancelled for the Cadets at the same time as the rest of the DCI world and open class corps.
  5. Completely agree. "With the hope for a safe and vastly improved environment in the coming weeks..." -- that just ain't gonna happen folks. This pandemic is just getting started. This seems more about softening the blow when they have to REALLY pull the plug.
  6. I call ########. For example, Cadets had a virtual brass camp this weekend. It's deplorable for anyone to use this public health emergency to spread misinformation and innuendo about the current Cadets leadership. The only ones who would be privy to this kind of information would be Denise and members of the new board.
  7. Just click the link. That worked for me and I'm not a subscriber. I think the WSJ has temporarily suspended pay walls.
  8. No you're not. You're thinking about "how can I use this public health emergency to troll DCP and throw more shade at the current Cadets leadership"
  9. It's time to accept the reality of the inevitable; the transmission of the virus will continue for a while. What could a corps director do if a staff member or performer tests positive while on tour? They'd have to quarantine everyone for 2 weeks. WGI has already to agreed to give age-outs another season. DCI should do the same. I agree that the 2021 will be strong; can you imagine how competitive the season will be with this much time to prepare?
  10. Aye - and I can't imagine any corps director not on board with this
  11. DCI will likely be shutting down for 2020 soon, it won't just be Cadets
  12. It seems like DCI has two choices: 1) delay the start of tour and have a shortened season, or 2) cancel tour. With still so many unknowns, I don't know how DCI could commit to a shortened season. I'd rather see everyone begin to focus their energy on 2021.
  13. It's reasonable to believe the transmission of the virus will continue for a while. What could a corps director do if a staff member or performer tests positive while on tour? They'd have to quarantine everyone for 2 weeks. I think we're all in denial of the inevitable. I suspect DCI may soon pull the plug on the 2020 Tour. WGI has already to agreed to give age-outs another season. DCI should do the same. Can you imagine how competitive the 2021 season will be with this much time to prepare?

  15. https://yea.org/node/10199 CADETS CANCEL MARCH 13-15 BRASS CAMP Created on Wednesday, 11 Mar 2020 11:30:18 MARCH 11, 2020-ALLENTOWN, PA: Due to the increasing number of health concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19 and the fact that New Jersey has declared a state of emergency, The Cadets, in consultation with Youth Education in the Arts (YEA!) Board President, Doug Rutherford, and DCI Executive Director, Dan Acheson, has decided to cancel this weekend’s Brass Camp which was to be held in Salem, New Jersey. Cadets Director, Denise Bonfiglio, stated that, “the health and
  16. I suspect the decision made at West Chester yesterday was the tipping point. https://www.wcupa.edu/communications/newsroom/2020/03.10update.aspx Colleges are closing their on-campus housing (West Chester, Rutgers, and others) and moving to online instruction; many students are being forced to relocate this weekend.
  17. The Jeff Davis Marching Vols Band from Montgomery, Alabama. They also performed in the Mardi Gras parades in Mobile and Biloxi. The head drum major has earned the nickname "Vanilla Funk" as he is the head drum major at a predominantly black high school.
  18. BOA Grand Nationals semi-finals have had performances as early at 6:15 AM https://marching.musicforall.org/event/grandnationals19/
  19. I'm guessing The Cadets would WANT to find a new HQ location
  20. I can't confirm, but considering Ron Lambert was the BAC assistant director in 2017, 2018 and 2019, it seems likely.
  21. Show and Tell is scheduled for noon, and a Volunteer and Parent Meeting at 11:00am
  22. Specifically, Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton, where assistant director Ron Lambert has been the band director for the past sixteen years. It's fortunate that he can open up his school for outdoor brass rehearsals so early in the season. https://yea.org/cadets/staff/ron-lambert
  23. Nor whether the new Cadets organization will continue to be headquartered in Allentown, or somewhere else?
