I'm super excited to go. Looks like the weather could stop before the show is supposed to start. Chances of storms from 5 to 7 currently.

They just either throw so many notes at you or jam out. That's the type of show this looks like right now. Not a lot of cohesiveness but it does look like it could be performed spectacularly later on.

It really feels like they just wanted to play this and then added a theme, even though this isn't the best type of music to be playing for the sake of it, IMO.

I am extremely looking forward to seeing the preview soon.

Not sure how I feel about the "completely redesigned" thing. The current style has the potential to produce either a really clean and slick looking uniform or a gaudy one, but they've hit on most all of their designs with it.

I'm hoping the show doesn't go too literal in portraying a beast. It could be too much.

Can someone clarify to me how show design will be handled this year? Did they already have a full show in place? I saw parts of the announcement were withdrawn, so I'm not sure if the actual theme is staying the same, or what.

Sorry, I've been living under a rock for the past few months, forgive my lateness. As a person still in eligibility, this kind of revelation is something that makes me not want to participate in DCI. I have a friend (a DCI rookie) marching Cadets this year. I wonder how he feels. Can't be good.

I found a comment on YouTube that explains the change from an mm's perspective. "No, they actually did explain it to us. After the Pulse shooting in Florida that occurred earlier that summer along with all the other shootings in the news, the design staff decided that more gun violence really wasn't the solution to anything, so they changed it. Michael Klesch, who arranges the brass book, said that if his son was marching this show or even watching the show, he would want him to take away from it that love and mercy is the answer; not violence. While the new ending isn't nearly as cathartic as the old one, I do believe it was the most mature route to go and I respect the design team a lot for it, even if it may have locked us into 3rd place. I don't think it's fair at all to place all the blame on the percussion for our results."

I'd like to throw Cadets 2014 onto the pile.

The Medea theme fits a lot better with the act of killing rather than mercy, doesn't it? And since the west is ruthless and our main character is Relentless, the kill ending fits so much better.
